Keith Hills Golf Club - Orange Course

Challenging but not frustrating. Greens and fairways were in great shape. Staff super courteous. Considering joining the club.

Overall great course. Greens are fast and true. Towards the end of the day the staff seemed to not have time for their customers. The guy supposed to give me a cart key drove off and I had to use a cart that barely made it back from the front 9. Other than that, I recommend this course solely on playability.

This course is challenging and kept in great condition.

Greens in excellent shape. Course is a decent challenge without being overpowering.

Overall was a nice course layout to play. Pace of place slowed down substantially on the back nine and the golf cart started acting up and finally quit on the last hole. Would still recommend to others and would like to play again sometime later in the spring

Really came around last two weeks, best shape of most courses in the area.

Very nice course and very challenging for my skill set. Still soggy in some spots but playable. Will be back!

Keith Hills is always a joy to play. Having 3 different 9 hole layouts always adds some diversity when booking a round. This round I got to play the Black Course, probably the most difficult of the three. Conditions were very wet as it had rained a lot recently, but they did their best to keep damage to a minimum. Save some $$ book direct with KH. This course is more about accuracy than power, so choose your Tee Club wisely or your score will suffer :) Always have fun interacting with the friendly staff and I meet nice people when playing. Not really seeing anything from the snackbar due to covid, but it would be nice to have an op to purchase water at the turn.Lots of room on the driving/chipping range to practice and the putting greens were very nice to practice on. Pretty fast. Save some $$ book direct with KH.

With no fault to the grounds crew, the weather these days have made the course wet and soggy, though the greens are in great shape. It wasn't very busy that day and 2 of us played the Black and White courses in about 3 1/4 hours and had a blast.

Keith Hills has three nines--you play two for your eighteen. That means if you play in the afternoon, you run into folks making the turn on the tee box where you're starting your round. On the day we played, there was no one from the course at our tee box. It was a free for all--whoever got there first got to tee it up, regardless of scheduled starting time. As a result, our round started nearly a half-hour late. Play was slow, compounding the problem.

Further dampening (literally) the day was the fact that the course does not drain well. NC winters are wet and courses get swampy. This one was swampier than most. On some holes it was just about impossible to find a spot to hit off that didn't result in a face full of mud.

Finally, if, like me, you are COVID-conscious, know that neither the staff nor the other patrons here seem especially concerned about the pandemic. Saw quite a few staff not wearing masks at all, or wearing them incorrectly (i.e., nose exposed). Maybe you don't care, and if so, more power to you. Me, I won't be back here until after the pandemic is over, and then only during dry weather, and probably only on a weekday. Our round took five hours to complete, which is just too long, even on a weekend.

Where were the Rangers, at the five hour mark I still had 5 holes to play. Frustration level was off the charts, For a school and course that prides itself the PGA program, something should have been done. I know we have had more than our fair share of rain, but the Black Nine was in miserable shape. Discounts should have been offered..

Keith Hils Golf Course is an excellent experience. The only downside is the amazing amount of rain we’ve gotten this winter which has the course extremely wet and muddy, but I’m sure that’s the same for all courses. Keith hills overall is the best secret in North Carolina.
