Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

Nice layout , I played here last May and the fairways were in better shape, they seemed not as plush. Silver tees are 5900 and very fair

This was our second time playing the course and there is a significant difference morning to afternoon. When we played it in the morning there was a starter to walk through pace of play, local rules etc and a ranger out on course to keep things moving. This time playing at 2:50, what a difference. No starter and no ranger. We arrived at the tee to watch the group in front of us just teeing off. 8 minutes after our tee time we finally started. 4 hours and 45 minutes later we finished after waiting on almost every hole.

Played the course for the first time this year.. played it twice last winter and thought it was one of the best tracks in the area.

The experience today did not disappoint.

Great course, beautiful shape lots of bunkers- you will love it. Club house almost ready. One prob was no rangers. Wow. A twosome help up our foursome for the entire round with no one in front of them. Not nice.

I will play again.

This is a fun course, forgiving, very good conditions but The greens are too slow. We will be back but for the price the greens could be better. Staff is excellent!

This course was fine but surrounded by houses and at times, construction. The pace of play was slow but it’s probably because of playin on Sunday. The greens were actually slower than they looked but for the most part they were in good shape. They put the tee times too close together and it took around four and a half hours, again don’t play on Sunday. For some reason there’s no GPS in the carts so beware...

While I don’t normally pay this much to play a round, it was a nice treat. Exquisitely maintained and a good test of all aspects of the game. Some greens were on the smallish size, and some huge, but all required a good read and a deft touch. The greens were a lot slower than they looked, requiring some adjustment in thinking. The foursome ahead of us kept a good pace and we were done 18 in a little over 3.5 hours. Probably on a par with the best courses in this area.

This is one of a hand full of courses in this area that are head and shoulders above all the others. The fairways are better than a lot of their greens. truly a pleasure to hit off. There are not too many places around here that play closer to courses further north that have better grass and a firmer base. I live near and have played many of the local courses. I treasure every opportunity that I can afford to play here. I will cry when this one goes private and believe me, it will soon. Thank you golfnow.

Forgiving layout, medium fast greens, very busy this time of year but always a good place to play.

Have played here several times. Always fun playing it. Challenging course, real good greens and the course has holes that you need to set up to score. I'm from up North so I enjoy playing the Bent grass course. They keep the course and surroundings beautifully manicured even though there is construction everywhere

This course is well worth the stop if you have not played here. Course is in great shape and fun to play. I definitely recommend !
