Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

This course offers a nice layout with generous fairways until the last few holes. There is lots of water although it does not come into play often unless you hit your shots far offline. The greens were very fast and firm making it difficult to putt if you are above the hole. Lots of bunkers to catch errant shots. The course is somewhat typical of Florida housing developments with homes built adjacent many of he fairways. Overall, it is a nice course and they work actively to try and keep the pace of play to an acceptable level.

Esplanade is well maintained and fair to all levels of golfers. Back tees are challenging and forward tees are forgiving. Greens are well maintained and contoured to make you plan your leaves. Traps are quality sand and well maintained. Fairways are generous and well maintained as well. Water and hazards do come into play on about one third of the holes but are obvious to the player. I enjoy this course.

We played the next day following the inter club event against the southern Esplanade Golf club. The course conditions all around where outstanding. Greens very impressive and true. Well done supt.

Everything was great but the sand traps were too hard

This course is probably the most well maintained course in the area. The layout is very fair but challenging. While the green fees are high, you can’t match the quality. The practice areas are large and in very good shape. The greens and bunkers are superb as well.

Course was great one of the the better public courses I’ve played in the area!

I played with my father in-law and the course is well suited for teeing it forward or playing the blacks if you want more of a challenge. The course was in very good shape overall and the staff was great, especially the starter. Some of the pin positions were brutal if you are on the wrong side of the undulations and you can end up with 10 - 12 ft putts back up a hill... but I made all 3 so I forgave this quite easily today. Would 100% play here again.

Great course that is being over run by houses. To bad but the course is still great.

If you are going to play a course this is definitely one that should be on the top of your list. Tees, fairways were in great shape and the greens were like putting on a pool table. Fast, true and roll out was scary. Challenging holes but good landing areas. Hazards creep up on you and the wind can be 2-3 club different. Nice practice facility, range, chipping area and practice green that ran like the course greens. A lot of construction around but it doesn't" effect the course. Can't wait to play it again..

Good condition and nice amenities all around. Some holes are a little too wide open, ,but overall has nice character and is an enjoyable play.

Absolutely love this course. It is one of our favorites for playing. We play several times during our time in Florida. Wonderful layout.

Nice course, excellent conditions. Layout seemed pretty average. No holes really stuck out as truly memorable. I did enjoy the range of green sizes, slopes, etc. Was in one bunker today which was fluffy on top inch but very firm under making shot difficult.

Recommend it but a little overpriced—not best available in county in my opinion—but very very nice and would happily play there any time.

Staff was very very friendly, ranger on course, great conditions and very nice practice area.

Course was great, but they should have had rangers out there moving groups along. We waited on almost every shot
