About
Alhambra Golf Course has a player-friendly design that is ideal for beginners but also great for more experienced players who are looking for a quick but fun round. The layout is a shorter par-71 design at 5,478 yards. It may not be long but it offers plenty of other challenges. There is plenty of variety between the two vastly different nines. The front nine holes are fairly flat, parkland holes with generous fairways lined with trees. The beginning holes provide a good warm-up for Alhambra Golf Course's more difficult back nine where you'll have to use every club in your bag. The back sprawls across rolling terrain, incorporating elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also more strategically placed bunkers on the back nine. Alhambra's 16th is the signature hole. This tricky par 5 begins with an intimidating tee shot over water in order to reach the fairway.

Play Here A Lot
Course customer service excellent. Great value in todays economy. But at present there are 2 problems. Greens and traps.Greens have always been great here. But since recent aeration they are slow, dried out (not all of them) and covered with old divots that were not repaired. Traps need more sand but City of Alhambra is to cheap to put up the money. They are hard, crusty and many covered with pebbles and rocks. Not quality playing conditions. Greens are a quick fix IMO. Traps are not but need to be done ASAP.
Executive Type Course
Alhambra Golf Course is a fairly short regulation 18 hole golf course. Although it is a short course, it is a fairly challenging course in that there are many eucalyptus trees and hazards like bunkers and water. If you can keep your ball in the fairways, you should have a nice time playing. It is perfect for golfers who can't hit the ball very far and is also fairly easy to walk. The greens are in good shape although there are many divots because golfers don't repair their marks. They have a 3 story driving range and a good putting, chipping and bunker practice area.
Golf Break
On business trip from New Orleans did not bring clubs due to tight schedule. Guess what break in schedule was able to get a round in at this course and it was GREAT! Staff provided me with a new set of rental clubs to use and they were also great.
If another break becomes available while here this week…..I will be back!
Nice day with some caveats
It's been a few years since I've played Alhambra. I've probably played it more than 30 times. Overall, the course was in great shape. The busy range has really evolved for the better. I was surprised to see the 18th hole that cuts the corner of the range is now a par 5 instead of a par 4. I think that's great for speeding up pace of play and makes birdie or even eagle feel achievable. If not for a slower group ahead that were playing the wrong tees, the day would have been 5 stars.

Everything was great. Green were great. There was great. Everything was all good. Can’t wait to play again..

Each time I play the rounds get longer. Very annoying. Get a marshal on the course after 8 AM PLEASE.. No excuse for 4.5 and 5 hour rounds in the morning
