About
Alhambra Golf Course has a player-friendly design that is ideal for beginners but also great for more experienced players who are looking for a quick but fun round. The layout is a shorter par-71 design at 5,478 yards. It may not be long but it offers plenty of other challenges. There is plenty of variety between the two vastly different nines. The front nine holes are fairly flat, parkland holes with generous fairways lined with trees. The beginning holes provide a good warm-up for Alhambra Golf Course's more difficult back nine where you'll have to use every club in your bag. The back sprawls across rolling terrain, incorporating elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also more strategically placed bunkers on the back nine. Alhambra's 16th is the signature hole. This tricky par 5 begins with an intimidating tee shot over water in order to reach the fairway.

Tee time Alhambra
From our first interaction with checking in at the Pro Shop, to dropping off cart at end of our round, everyone was friendly.
Check in was fast and they actually honor senior cards for discount!
Tee time was even a bit ahead of schedule. ( bonus points) They seemed to pace groups to the timeline starting times( a lost art)
The greens rolled fast and are well kept.( no weeds on the greens)
The restaurant was cranking out delicious food. Patty melt, salad and a Tuna sandwich.
The driving range is updated. The number of balls dispensed compared to other facilities is generous. ( Long Beach are you listening?)
All in all.... another great day at Alhambra Golf Course!

Had a great time, but if you got away from the fairways, the grass was a little longer than usual.

Funday of golf
Getting a later tee time was worrisome, I thought I would have to wait awhile at each hole to tee off. But it wasn't as bad , we completed our game in a regular pace of play and had a fun day of golf.
Great course
The course was in excellent shape. The greens and tee boxes were perfect. There were a few soggy spots but all good considering all of the rain.

Great Local Course
The course offered some challenging aspects such as water hazards, gullies, hills and long grass for the rough. Some of the fairways were a little narrow, making it challenging for the average golfer.

Despite all the rain, course in good shape.
Bunkers could use a bit more sand, but otherwise no issues.
Divets on the greens continue to be an issue. Can no one fix their friggin divets?? Let alone in the fairway, dumping a little dirt from the canister -- yes, that plastic thing on the side of the cart-- on your divets goes a long way. Don't be a tool, use your divet tool on the greens!!
