Alhambra Municipal Golf Course
About
Alhambra Golf Course has a player-friendly design that is ideal for beginners but also great for more experienced players who are looking for a quick but fun round. The layout is a shorter par-71 design at 5,478 yards. It may not be long but it offers plenty of other challenges. There is plenty of variety between the two vastly different nines. The front nine holes are fairly flat, parkland holes with generous fairways lined with trees. The beginning holes provide a good warm-up for Alhambra Golf Course's more difficult back nine where you'll have to use every club in your bag. The back sprawls across rolling terrain, incorporating elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also more strategically placed bunkers on the back nine. Alhambra's 16th is the signature hole. This tricky par 5 begins with an intimidating tee shot over water in order to reach the fairway.

Tee boxes closed
Every tee box was closed. This should be disclosed before tee times are booked.
Poor tee boxes
Tee boxes were under repair, that’s fine, I get it. The temporary tee boxes not only made the course very very short but also were in extremely poor conditions. Some even on a slope. If you’re going to make players use temporary tee boxes for the restoration of the existing ones, at least make the area playable. Overall, my group had a great time and would definitely return
mostly forward tees, tee boxes being worked on
Love the course, and it is in good shape. However, right now, if you want to get your $ worth, wait until the tee boxes are done being aerated, unless you like playing short par 4 and long par 3.
A shout out to "Julius," how was very gracious after I had to leave early due to a family emergency after Nine holes.
If anyone wants to book a tournament at this location, don't do it during October! Seems the tee box overhaul (ALL of them at the same time) are done in October.
A shout out to Jasmine, who is extremely helpful putting together the needs of any tournament. Also, Marshal "Dan" is an excellent attribute to the course as a golfer supervisor.
Another fine day
We played Alhambra last Wednesday a couple of weeks after they Aerated the course. The greens were healing nicely. We weren't expecting the tee boxes to be under repair. ( the Par 5, 4's become one stroke less due to moving up the tee boxes) We still had a fine day of golf.
The staff in the Pro shop were very pleasant and efficient getting everyone assigned to their carts and tee times.
The wait staff in the grill was awesome ( as always)
I would like to see reminders ( flags) on flag poles on every hole) for players to fix their +1 Divot. Golf carts also.
NEEDS A MARSHALL
Honestly, I was pretty taken aback by the conditions of this course as I thought it had great value for what we were paying but as soon as we got past the first couple of holes it seemed like people were congregating around certain holes. This caused the pace of play to be extremely slow. My friends and I were waiting roughly 20 mins before we could tee off and ultimately this made us leave after finishing 8 holes in 2 and half hours. I will not be coming back here until they get someone to crowd control and marshall the course.
Thank you for being candid with us, anagano. We would love to hear more about this and if you wouldn’t mind, please email us at info@alhambragolfcourse.com so we can learn more about this.
