Alhambra Municipal Golf Course
About
Alhambra Golf Course has a player-friendly design that is ideal for beginners but also great for more experienced players who are looking for a quick but fun round. The layout is a shorter par-71 design at 5,478 yards. It may not be long but it offers plenty of other challenges. There is plenty of variety between the two vastly different nines. The front nine holes are fairly flat, parkland holes with generous fairways lined with trees. The beginning holes provide a good warm-up for Alhambra Golf Course's more difficult back nine where you'll have to use every club in your bag. The back sprawls across rolling terrain, incorporating elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also more strategically placed bunkers on the back nine. Alhambra's 16th is the signature hole. This tricky par 5 begins with an intimidating tee shot over water in order to reach the fairway.

Hole 6 green. So many trees that line the fairways at this course. Photo submitted by u018507495 on 06/24/2025

I'm from the east coast visiting family in Los Angeles. I was looking for a place to play and found Alhambra on the internet. I booked online asked about renting clubs since I didn't bring mine . I was emailed back within minutes.
The course was in great shape considering how hot it's been. In fact as we were playing staff was out watering the greens to keep them from. burning out. The bunkers had nice sand to hit from, ( back on the east coast a lot of courses aren't taking good care of them). Fairways were nice and the rough was fair. The greens were nice sized with breaks you could read. A nice layout indeed.
At the course the staff in the clubhouse was very friendly. , and accommodating and ii had a nice set of clubs to play with. Not just old clubs that were left behind . After nine holes we stopped for a something to drink in the bar and since I had to leave my credit card as collateral in the clubhouse for the rented clubs I couldn't pay the woman at the bar said I could pay when we were finished with the round. How nice is that! We had lunch there after the round and it was delicious snd agsin the staff was just so nice.
Overall if your looking for a nice course with friendly staff, Alhambra Golf Course is the place to go.
Nice short course
Nice short course. Practice areas are well maintained. Good short game practice areas. Not a course that will wow you, but it’s enough of a challenge especially for a mid to high handicapper. If you hit bombing drivers, this might not be the course for you as it’s short. Still a fun course to play 18.
Needs a lot of work
Staff in the Pro Shop incredibly friendly. We had a lot of friend. At the end of the day it's a beat up course with a lot of odd holes. A quick place to play.
Loved it
I booked this course last minute just to get out and hit some balls .... The price was great for this place as the conditions were better then most.... Fairways were good... Greens were better... Pace of play was awesome... The only set back were the tee boxes as the grass was really long and they were just crappy .... But overall this course is very short so it's a great confidence booster for those who don't really smash the ball over 300 yds .... Most par 4's are under 300 so a nice drive and a good short game and you can score really low here!! I will definitely be back!!

Alhambra golf course
Started off really well because the some that was supposed to go ahead of us so we went on.. from the 2nd all the way to 18th hole was backed up because my partner goes two on on every hole but the players ahead of us was shooting almost worse than me 5/6/7atokes and their still not on the green. The Marshall comes by saying we are the cause of the slowness but they should do something about the slow players.. just because I shot a mulligan one one of the holes .. the Marshall says this is not range ~ OMG!! My ball went out so I drove another shot and he can’t say that to me!! So rude!!
