About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Great practice course / value for your buck!
This is a long and great layout... (Butterfield) The tee boxes are average, fairways are average with dry spots but the greens are always well taken care of on all holes! For the low price you cannot really beat it. Twilight prices are awesome!! Pace of play is always good. Driving range is grass which is better then matts! It does get hot with slight winds in the later part of the day but still a nice place to get some work in!!
Rough conditions, slow play, kicked off the course at 740pm
Tee boxes are dirt. Greens have footprints all over the place effecting the ball.
Slow play, no Marshall's, except for when they came to kick my group off at 740pm and let the 3 groups that were playing slow finish all 18.
Nice and wide layout
Fairways are in typical summer shape. Some greens had a few spots, but otherwise it’s in good shape.

Slow
Groups behind us were rushing us when everyone in front of us were playing slow. 9 holes in 3 hours. For the money it was not worth it.
That can happen anywhere. I’ve had it pretty good there to be fair.
If I were to criticize? They need a marshal and I’ve never seen one there or at most courses.
And yeah, I’m 73 and can walk courses fast than some in carts.

Hole 17 has really bad smell from pond or bathroom. I couldn't breath.
