El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Good for the price - sad for the water restrictions
Overall, great value. $60 for a cart before noon on a weekend is a good deal if you ask me. Everywhere has had to ration water given the drought and the course is no exception. Some dirt patches all over the course but what can they do, it’s clear they’re prioritizing the greens over fairways so I didn’t mind. Greens were fast but very soft, some were beat up but it’s from people not fixing ball marks.
Pace was about 4.5 hours with a very inexperienced group ahead but it was also 104 when we played so expected to be a bit slower than 4 hours. Grass range is always a plus no matter how pure (I’d say 7/10).
Great experiences here on both courses so highly recommend
Slow pace of play
Slow pace of play, two some in front did not offer to play through even though there is one full hole open! That is fine, I end up team up with another single player
Wont play it ever
I have traveled around the US in the pass 15 years and this course has to be the worst I've ever played. The t-box and fairways were in bad condition, soaked in some areas and no grass in some other areas. Plus, the greens had some growth going on and it made it bad for putting. Then to top it off, the starters let two groups jump in front of us on hole #10. That slowed our play by 10 minutes, so it took an extra 30 minutes to finish.
We’re sorry to hear of your less-than-satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. We value our customers' opinions and would like to make things right and determine how we can provide a solution that makes you smile. Please contact us directly at the pro shop at (909) 597-1751 Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Weekend Golf
The course played well, just very slow. Group in front of us would hit 2 balls each off the tee - cumulative yardage about 100. Then go to find and slowly make their way down the fairway. The group in front of them wasn't much better. We actually skipped 2 holes and 3 groups to find an open hole and played from there.
Best it's ever been
Course is in better shape then anytime in the past. Only problem is pace of place. This round was brutal. No Marshall to keep pace. 4 groups packed at 10. Waited on every shot in the back.
NOT BAD
played chino creek it was a fun lay out course conditions were ok, greens rolled fine, tee boxes were decent, fairways could use some love though
overall i would come back

Challenging But Nice
El Prado-Chino Creek Course was fun to play. It was uncrowded and a well designed golf course. It is a challenging course. We played from the blue tees, but it still would have been hard from the white tees. Some fairways are narrow and the wind plays a part in making it difficult. Yet, it was still fun to play because you can make pars and birdies if you concentrate. You won't bully this course but it won't bully you either. It is a scenic, relaxing, solid test of golf. It is not fancy nor manicured. There are dry patches, divots, other unkempt areas. However, overall it is maintained sufficiently to allow normal golf play. It is worth the price.
Ridiculous
Sunday morning 9:16 Tee.
We followed a foursome of decent players. They followed a SIXSOME of guys that were hitting balls all over the place.
Issue was allowing 6 people on a busy day. We left after 3:5 hours to play 9 holes.
That’s it…….

Golf Now Gem
Saw a great price for the next day, made the reservation. Very much enjoyed the course. The only down side was the group in front of us was very slow, but still played in 4-1/4 hours.
Great layout. I will be back.
