About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Layout is great for any level golfer.

Fun, challenging course
This is a pretty fun and challenging course. It’s got quite a bit of length and a lot of movement on the fairways and the greens. Decent practice area and grass driving range. Fairways are a little patchy/muddy and the tee pads were pretty muddy on a few holes but overall for this time of year the course in in pretty decent shape. Pace of play only backed up for about 2 holes. Highly recommend.
customer service
There was no disclosure on the website upon purchasing reservations for Chino Creek course that they close the back nine gates at 4:30. Upon having to skip a few holes to get out of the back nine before the gates closed our car battery went dead and we had were left stranded to walk back to the pro shop to let them know. Upon reporting the carts failure the customer rep in the pro shop did not offer any help or a discount.
Best GREENS in Inland Empire!!
The fairways were a little sparse. The Tee boxes were much better shape than usual. The GREENS were EXCELLENT! The pace was excellent, 2.5 hours for a 2 some. The views of the mountains are beautiful.

COVID Conditions Getting Better
We played in the morning and the conditions were perfect. The tee boxes were nicely mowed with plenty of grass. The fairways were pretty good. The greens were EXCELLENT. We played in front of 4 some who took as long to play 9 holes as we take to play 18. Please tell 4 somes that they cannot possibly play as fast as a 2 some. We had to skip a hole to get away from them. Many people do not have the common sense to know that. Please be aware of that on the first tee. It takes an aware starter to pick that up.
Poor maintenance
It’s been a year since I played in this course and this time I was disappointed. There are a lot of brown / mud spots along the fairways. Also, the bunkers, there are almost or no sands in it, so hard to hit. I just hope they would keep a good maintenance in this golf course.

We believe that the course was closed due to the unhealthy air quality resulting from the wildfires in Orange County. Despite numerous attempts to call the course or affiliated bar/restaurant we could only get recorded messages, none of which told us the status of the course. Therefore, we did not play.
