El Prado Golf Courses - Chino Creek
About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

Roll the rock
There are some things that will be issues for some golfers. I see the staff trying to keep the level of attention to the playing areas on a high level. To those golfers that take a full swipe and a divot on the green- go homr and cut YOUR grass that way- stop chopping around the hole, so OTHER people can enjoy their rounds. Fix a few other pitch marks on every green; in addition to your own, as well.
Slow Slow Slow
The front nine was fine and it took about two hours. The back nine was another problem. The first two holes took one hour the next two holes took another hour. Oh and the Marshall he was not at all helpful. Oh I forgot the Marshall just picks up cans and bottles he doesn’t actually interact with players . Is that what he is supposed to do?
So after that ridiculous slow play we quit.
30 years since
Its been over 30 years since playing El Prado. We played the Chino Creek and enjoyed the game. Course was in good shape, with maybe a couple more weeks for the greens to recover from the punching. Early tee time which made our round a little under 4 hours which was nice. I will play here again.
Reliable Place to Tee it Up
This place is the equivalent to a municipal course in terms of challenge and quality, but they’ve got a fantastic grass driving range and putting/chipping range.
Great bar to hang out at after a round as well.
If you’re a novice golfer I’d recommend playing the Butterfield Stage Course.
If you’re looking for more of a challenge give Chino Creek a go.
Fairway becomes better
The course becomes better than last winter. Thanks for your works. I hope the management of the club would try to improve the pace of play.

Good course
Good playing here. There are 3 greens that were driven on by a motorcycle that did several donuts on each green. Didn’t know that before we paid and played. The groundskeeper should fix these as soon as possible and probably rope off the damaged area and allow golfers to lift and place in an area that is under repair.

Best golf course for the money
This is my 3rd time playing at El Prado Chino Creek, overall very satisfy with staffs, course condition, and layout.
