About
El Prado Golf Course in Chino offers two 18-hole courses, Chino creek and Butterfield Stage. Chino Creek is the longer of the two at 6,858 yards from the back tees. It is also considered more challenging but both are player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. As its name would imply, the Chino Creek runs along the entire length of the golf course. You find water in several different forms throughout the course including lakes and meandering streams. The layout is spread across rolling terrain with elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Several of the holes begin from elevated tees and it's likely you'll face more than one uphill battle. Trees and bunkers also come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. It's not an overly difficult golf course but beginners can also try the shorter and less challenging Butterfield Stage Course.

COVID Conditions Getting Better
We played in the morning and the conditions were perfect. The tee boxes were nicely mowed with plenty of grass. The fairways were pretty good. The greens were EXCELLENT. We played in front of 4 some who took as long to play 9 holes as we take to play 18. Please tell 4 somes that they cannot possibly play as fast as a 2 some. We had to skip a hole to get away from them. Many people do not have the common sense to know that. Please be aware of that on the first tee. It takes an aware starter to pick that up.
Poor maintenance
It’s been a year since I played in this course and this time I was disappointed. There are a lot of brown / mud spots along the fairways. Also, the bunkers, there are almost or no sands in it, so hard to hit. I just hope they would keep a good maintenance in this golf course.
We believe that the course was closed due to the unhealthy air quality resulting from the wildfires in Orange County. Despite numerous attempts to call the course or affiliated bar/restaurant we could only get recorded messages, none of which told us the status of the course. Therefore, we did not play.

Greens are in great shape
The fairways are in ok shape. The greens are in great shape.
Twilight is the Best
With the Covid conditions and Covid restrictions twilight golf has become the best way to go. It is not as crowded and the people who are playing or actually playing with a purpose instead of just putting around. The conditions were pretty good today the fairways were OK the greens were very nice and the tea boxes were a little beat up.

Fun layout, great greens
I really enjoyed this course. Lots of elevation changes, little quirks and twists and turns! I would definitely recommend riding, it would be a LONG walk!
