Nice Golf Course!
It was our first time playing Browns Mill and we thought the course was very nice. The condition of the course and the greens was really good. Our only objection to anything is that the cart paths need a lot of help so you have to go really slow and be careful and even go off the paths sometimes to not be jolted. It was a 90 degree cart path day, so that didn't help. But all in all the course is very nice and not too easy and not too difficult, so a good fun place.
Thursday Play 11112021
The course was in fairly good condition. The greens were fast and almost every pin position was on a sloping green. You must be able to putt.
The course has good features
Very good on the golf course. The course is always busy.
Car Broken Into
Play here often - usually once a week. Yesterday my car was broken into while I was on the course. Car was locked and my door handle lock is now broken. Be careful with valuables in your car.
Great course; beware of gnats
Title sums up my experiences- I always have a great time on this challenging course and course conditions are great overall.
Just make sure to take your bug spray with you because there are lots of gnats, wherever you are. On the tee box, fairways, and especially on the greens.
Will be back with even more bug spray next time
Browns Mill
First off, it’s stupid that the clubhouses are still closed at Atlanta city courses. That, however, is no reflection on the course, or staff. As far as the course goes, the layout is enjoyable. The greens need to be sanded often, they are way too spongey and inconsistent. I’d play it again though.
Green's
I find the course to be in good condition overall but the greens are excellent especially when you consider that it's a city facility. It offers many challenges and you can score well with good management.
Great course for golf and golf only
At the relatively low price point for this course, I expected the conditions to be poor. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the fairways and greens were in really good condition. The bunkers' condition wasn't great, but when you don't hit it in the bunkers, you don't really care. Lol! Some of the tee boxes were a little rough and the cart paths are struggling in several places due to large tree roots upending the paths, but the really important parts (fairways, fringes, and greens) are very well kept. The course is still under Covid protocol and the clubhouse is closed (made known by a crudely handwritten sign out front) so there are no concessions or beverage cart. So BYO if you want to eat or drink anything. As long as you know this up front, I actually prefer to bring my own snacks and drinks instead of paying the club upcharge. Overall, I was very happy with this course. It was challenging enough to use every club in my bag while also being fun at the same time.
