Have they mowed ever?
Pace of play was atrocious even with wide open tee times on golf now. The fairway is technically rough and the rough looks like it hasn’t been mowed in months. Cart died halfway. Only good thing we’re the greens
Beautiful golf course.
The course is beautiful… but in my opinion the fairways are terrible. The grass is so long your ball doesn’t travel very far. When they did trim the fairways they left the cut grass which made it just as difficult to get any distance or find your ball.
Our group likes the course a lot and play twice a month.
Our group plays twice a month around 9 and enjoy the course, layout, practice areas, and parking, actually just about everything EXCEPT the meal policy. We like to play, sit down and have lunch, laugh, joke, tell lies, have a beer and a sandwich and pay our daily debts! Your rate with the lunch is super, but the fact we get it from the cart girls, try to eat between strokes, putts, etc seems very odd. You would improve your repeat customers if you had a cut off time, say 9:15/9:30 for the promotion and let golfers who finish after 1:00/1:30 sit relax and have a beer and a meal on the deck or in the cafe. I’m sure you have a reason for the current policy but it escapes me and our group. All the other courses we play, Bonita, Coronado, Riverwalk, AdmiralBaker have a similar rate with the option of a sit down lunch. We grouse about every time we play your great layout
Great Shape
This Course has made great strides getting back into shape. Great job to the Staff.
Brilliant condition, must be visited.
I’m based overseas in Ireland, visited for first time since 2019. Very pleasantly surprised that Eastlake has taken a significant step forward. Great greens, subtle slopes around hole, fairways excellent. Some slight areas lacking grass but very much exception to the norm. Coming to Eastlake since early 2000s, delighted it’s reached former glories. Staff very friendly and pleasant on course and pro shop and starter. Highly recommended.
Pace of Play Kills It
I used to enjoy playing here but now the pace of play put the final nail in the coffin for me. It’s not a nice enough course to wait 15 minutes in between shots for. Really disappointing… it’s not just this once either. It’s been a consistent issue over the last couple of months. The marshal job should be blasted on all of the job boards to get someone in there who can regulate at a reasonable pace.
Still waiting
Cancelled a reservation more than 24 hrs and still haven’t gotten reimbursed
Give it a try
I’ve been playing here for over the last year and I have seen a steady improvement in fairways and general course maintenance. The greens are nice but are a little slow. I think that’s to preserve their quality during the peak heat season. Give it a try
Friday Fun
Course is in good condition. Fridays seem to have the worst pace of play, a little over 4.5hrs. Had fun out there, the two-some we were paired with were cool and easy to play with. This course will definitely remain in our weekly circuit
Great course!!
Enjoyed every aspect of this track!! Would prefer fluffy sand traps vice the hard compacted sand they have. However still a great time!!
South Bay Upgrade
Enagic has become one of my top 3 most common places to golf in San Diego as a 90’s golfer. Incredibly well maintained and always green, challenging and fun holes(especially 9), I’ve never had to wait for a foursome in front of me and they have the little things like how nice the cart is to the quality of food and drinks you get at the turn really make this course a fun one to try out.
Longest Course In San Diego
… and by that I mean a minimum 5-5.5 hour round on a weekday. I can’t even imagine the pace on the weekend. They have a course marshal, but all he did was sit in his cart under a tree and watched groups go by. The 4 some in front held back 3 groups, and they did nothing about it. Even after calling the pro shop, the near death pace continued. You have been warned.
Tee boxes are in good condition, and greens run well (nothing compared to the practice green) and the rough will punish bad shots.
If it wasn’t for the 6 hour round they would have gotten a better review.
