What a joke
Didn’t even get to play, didn’t get a refund either. The line to tee off was about 20 carts long, this place is a joke, don’t waste your time.
Crawling
Course management should consider pace of play and enforce it; walkers should be more considerate with other players; it is not fine to take their time taking extra practice swings, looking endlessly for balls. Even with ready-golf policy it is a very slow pace because too many high handicap players don't know or don't care about others.
Also should promote 9-hole playing rounds
Highly recommended but don't go; it's crowded
This course is best located in Buckhead. Nice layout, landscape. The issue is with pace of play. Too many walkers make it slower than already is because is crowded all the time. Should not let people walk or only at certain times (twilight)
Rude
Managed to Tee off of 1 before severe weather hit, were told that we can go get electrocuted if we want and go out but wouldn’t get a raincheck, with them forcing you to prepay online maxs it impossible to get money back or a refund even with the course bad conditions unplayable. Will not go again, front desk man was rude as well.
STAY AWAY
STAY AWAY from Chastain unless you want a 6-hour round. This course is full of beginners and the course is in bad condition. The greenskeeper obviously is sleeping on the job.
Terrible service and people
Everyone was angry and not nice. No services. No parking. Sad for an 18 hole course.
This Course is Embarrassing
It has been a while since I have played this course and I don’t plan to play again unless something changes. I expect all the usual issues with a muni course including crowding and less than stellar course conditions. I play Browns Mill all the time and while it is not great, it is still worlds better than this course. A few issues that I had: The greens were torn up from the mower, the fairways were filled with large hard dirt patches, the golf cart was barely functional and there were huge piles of dead unmulched grass everywhere. The city needs to outsource maintenance of there courses again because this is not working.
Never Again…
Disappointing. The course conditions are poor. There are weeds everywhere including the greens. Extreme heat with no beverage cart, no restaurant, no snacks, no fresh water, etc. it’s a disaster waiting to happen. And the cost on a weekday for this misery? Approximately $50. Great location is the best I can say about this pasture.
unexpectedly bad
The fairways were piled up with grass clippings from what looked like the first mowing in a month. greens were different lengths and all overgrown. Would be a great place to play golf after they hire a grounds crew that didn't treat the course like a hay field.
Present conditions
The grass was cut so high that losing a ball, even on the fairway was common. It caused delays as everyone was trying to find their ball. Lost several balls just because you gave up since the play got very slow and needed to move on. 2nd cut ball would sink to a full disappeared level and some times first cyst was just as bad. You could even hit a ball straight down the middle on the fairway and struggle to find it and sometimes not find it at all.
Too Much Grass Clippings Accumulations
The roughs were made unbearable with the super accumulation of grass clippings. Fairways were heavily saturated and bare of grass throughout.
