About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

Nice Day of Golf
Course and greens is nice shape. Liked course but not staff. Gruppy old man behind counter. Needs to hang it up! Is rude and arrogant!
Always a pleasure
Incredibly fun layout. Challenging for the low handicapper and highly playable for the mid to high handicapper. Always in great condition and some of the best drainage at any public course in the metro area.
Wet day at the course.
It was a misty rain most of the day but the course absorbed it well. Greens were great and smooth.The course layout is mainly straight forward with a few tricky holes on the Chateuux course.

Beautiful course.
First time playing this course, was not disappointed. The greens were immaculate. The entire course was absolutely gorgeous! I’d definitely recommend this place; it’s worth the money!

Very pleased with course conditions
This course is in excellent condition. Greens and fairways are firm and we completed 18 holes in 3 hours and 40 minutes. I’ve played this course off and on for over 20 years and this course is in better shape now than when they were booked solid.
Due to pandemic restrictions, only the clubhouse was open. Bring your own water/beverage as there is nothing on the course. Playing one person to a cart significantly increased pace of play on a day when there was one to two groups on each hole.

Worth playing
The Chateau course is good golf challenge comparable to many other North Georgia courses, though not as hilly as many of them. The greens and bunkers were in great shape, and the fairways were fine though hard and dry. The practice facilities were fairly basic, which surprised us since it hosts a Dave Pelz short game program.

Nice course
Greens and fairways are in good shape
Played 18 today. Tee time was 10:40. Was able to get in all 18 before the rain started. Course was in phenomenal shape. Green tee boxes, fairways, and the greens rolled true and fast.
Definitely look forward to playing the course again.
Just what I needed!
Very nice, hard course. Just what I needed to help with cabin fever. Staff there are always top notch. I felt like they are doing everything right to help you have a great outing and keep you safe from virus scare.
