Soggy Day
Lots of recent rain has left this course very soggy. Fairways are a bit long as too wet to mow. Greens are in good shape. Cart path only so I walked. Spent quite a bit of time cleaning mud out of my shoes as I went. I like the course but would have played elsewhere if I would have known it was going to be that muddy.
Much improved
The course was in the best shape I've seen it in recent memory. I think that could be attributed to the recent rains. Putting surface was in good condition. Booking online with the discount offered makes it a worthwhile investment. I did not sample the food but I was unable to remove the poor star rating in that category. We played at a fairly fast pace and fortunately we were not help up on this particular day. Overall a very enjoyable round of golf.
A VERY GOOD CHALLENGE
Always a very challenging course. Has water, sand, trees and greens were fine. It';s always beern one of my favorites in SAcramento area. I'll go back soon. If you can shoot a good score here, you're a very good golfer...
Bring your A game
Love this course, it is hard to score well because it is very challenging but if your up to seeing what kind of game you really have this is the course. In great shape for this time of year and is a great course to play, one of the more challenging courses in the area.
Good challenging course.
When I first started playing a few years ago, I played here often. Then when the new owners took over I quite playing because of how rude they were.
Now that they are GN I have returned. The course is in decent shape and the staff are more friendly except for one guy who also works in the bar. I do like the course because it can be easy when in the fairways and very tough when not. As LNG as they are on GN I will continue to play here. I do believe my game improves when I play this course.
They do need more drinking water station and make sure the ball washer serviced more often. Many of them smell bad or do not have any water at all.
I do recommend this course because it forces you to hit the ball to the middle of the fairway.
Great day of golf with buddies
So we had 6 of us playing together and got done with all 18 holes in just over 4 hours. Course was in good condition and rewards good shots. If you get off line plan on just hitting back to the fairway with all the trees around the course. I hadn't played in three months and had a great time.
Rude people
It's family owned and may be time to find a different business. I had heard stories but went anyhow. If you want to be treated like a ten year old by an old school marm, then this is the place for you.
Course book or course knowledge needed.
This course was in nice condition for a drought year, Fun to play , difficult layout without course knowledge.
Overall Good Course
Course was in good condition. Place of play was awesome. Really a Fun layout that's not over the top hard. The bartender was a jerk but hey, you can't be perfect. Maybe he just had a bad day. Stay in the fairways or be ready to play knock downs all day from the trees.
NIce Round
Course is in great shape and for $20.00 was a great deal!
shhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone
From the reception in the pro shop to the really tasty breakfast, and not forgetting a course that rocks,,,,,, In the words of the guvnor...... I'll be back
Needs a drink
Some fairways were challenging, narrow and had trees to maneuver. The outlying edges had a lot of dry spots and even some of the main parts of the fairway were like hitting off hardpan. The greens are mostly flat and true. The sounds of passing cars on the freeway isn't exactly soothing but for $20 it was worth it.
great value
the pace of play was great the course for the most part is in excellent condition because of the drought conditions.
there are some real challenging holes sometimes trees has a way of getting in your way, I really suggest you play this course
Won't be back!
If I could give them a negative star for friendliness, I would. Never been to a less helpful and more rude place of business. On top of that the ownership has turned it into a dump. Starting with the (un) Pro Shop, continuing to the goat patch driving range, and finishing with the fairways and tee boxes. They have let this place go to the dogs and it reflects in their attitude toward their customers. You pretty much have to play the ball up because the fairways are so sketchy. There isn't much grass on the uneven tees...they are pretty much a collection of weeds and dirt clods. I would say, consider other options.
Lacking organization
The course is decent option for golfing. The greens are smooth and role true, the fairways and roughs are maintained at good heights. The few gripes are no starter. 3 groups were waiting to go out and nobody from the course was around to set the pace. Out on the course the marshall wasn't speaking to the groups causing bottlenecks on the par 3 holes.
Thank you for your concern. We do not have starters at the tee box but we do have the starter at the front desk calling out names over the loudspeaker. Usually if we are really busy or if there are more than one group within a group going off we only call the the first group and usually we don't run more that 15min behind. When things are slow and groups want to go off early they usually let us know and we have no problem letting people off early unless they paid for twilight or deep discounted tee time. Those we let out about 10 to 15 min. early if not busy.
For our marshals, when groups are stacked up one behind the other, they can only talk to the ones that are causing the bottle neck and that may not be apparent unless you check ever hole in front for the gaps. They have no problem asking groups to speed it up a little. Sometime When the course if really busy, there will be bottle necks from people loosing a ball or just slow play and if our marshals do see a gap of 2 or more hole, they will definitely ask player to speed up. Thank your for your comments we will try in the future to make some adjustments to better your experience.
Over priced cow pasture
This course used to be a great course, but has gone downhill. We have given it several tries but the rudeness we have experienced from the owner/bartender is not worth our $$$$. Not to mention the course is in its worst shape ever. Greens are infected ,dried up and bumpy. Goodluck finding a good ly in the fairway. What a mess the place has become. We will not go back .
Nice course but....
Lack of maintence with tree trimming , otherwise greens and fairways in good shape.
fun course
this is a fun course to play can be challenging. You can score well if you keep it in the fairway.
a course of luck
The course was way too tricked out for me. You hit a good drive and you have to contend with a tree on your approach shot. Dealing with the trees on the par threes, the power lines, bunkers with no sand in them. One can hit good shoots but not have any opening for the next shot and another person can hit a terrible shot, hit a tree and have an excellent next shot. You get rewarded for being lucky for the day and not skilled. Stay away unless 3 to 4 hours of frustration is your idea of fun.
Great day of play
18 holes in just under 3.5 hours! Greens were somewhat soggy at point owing to recent aeration but overall this is a very nice and challenging course
I'm sorry if my staff or I was in any way rude to you. In regards to the place being a dump. I guess this would be a matter of opinion. I know, because of the water situation there may be some bare spots in the ruff but the fairways shouldn't have a bare stop on them. I apologize if you had a bad experience here at dry creek.
