Fun Day
Very nice course!! Easy to get to the location, just off the freeway in Galt, Calif. Had a fun day!! The couse was in very good condition. (The greens had just been aerated so they were a tad bit rough, but the course made sure I knew before I played!! Very cool that they wanted to make sure I understood!!) I played the white tee's, but there was a long blue, and even a longer black tee option that I will play later in my golf advancement!!
Greens just punched
Low Hot Deal price {recently aerated?} Otherwise same old Dry Creek
The greens were in very good shape as were the fairways.
My playing partner and I were very impressed with the conditions of the greens. With the lack of rain we've had this year, we were expecting all the fairways to be brown. The fairways were in good shape and nice and green. We're planning on coming back real soon.
After our round of golf, we even had time to stop by and have a Red Beer and say to Chris.
This is a nicely mature course with alot of character. A very challenging course
We enjoyed our day here. The staff pro was exceptionally friendly and had a very nice swing!!!
Fun and Scenic Course
It was raining light to moderate, but by the end the sun was shining. Obviously, there was little fairway roll. Most fairways were narrow and lined by tall mature trees. I must say it is a beautiful course laced with strategically placed bunkers. The greens are small measuring 28 yards in diameter on the average. The greens could use some tender loving care because of golfers failure to properly repair the ball marks. The staff was very friendly and I plan to play this course many more times.
Dry Creek golf
Course in good shape for this time of year. It could have better yardage markers
Great track.
I play here all the time and it is one of the best layouts in the valley with many challenging holes when you play it from the back tees. The owner is always very nice and accomodating to our group. Pace of play is always great with no problem getting done in 4 hours or less on a weekend. We ussually go 36 holes there and it is a very good value for the price. Farways are solid enough to play it down and not get any bad lies even with the drought conditions and the greens while not really fast are always in good shape, Unlike the other reviewer, I would say Elkhorn is as good but Micke and Lockford are cow pastures compared to Drycreek.
Nice little gem in Galt (Near Sacramento)
First time at this course. Enjoyed the course, very scenic and challenging. Makes you play all shots, left to right and right to left.
Greens in good condition, especially considering the CA drought. Friendly staff, good value for the dollar. I recommend you come down and give it a try!
staff and owner are really low, show poor professional behavior and stingy.
the course is in a poor condition. people who own and run the place are really cheep and strict. if you're not done playing after 4 hours, they would come to find you and tell you to quick since there are hardly anyone playing there and they expect you to complete under 4 hours. dont ever play there. go to micke, lockeford, and elkhorn just a few miles apart.
Reggie42, I have read many of your course reviews and I must say I am impressed. Your descriptions and insight of the courses you have reviewed is informative and adds perspective I had not thought of.
You seem to be addicted to golf as much as I am. Would love to catch up with you some time for a round or a coffee to talk about golf. I too like to play Dry Creek and play there about once a week between 12 and 1.
