About
It might not have a lot of competition, but Gilroy Golf Course dubs itself as the "Best 11-Hole Golf Course in America." Built by local farmers and businessmen in 1923, this unique 11-hole routing east of Santa Cruz features small greens and wide, tree-lined fairways set along the Uvas Valley that has changed very little since its founding. Though not a full 18, the golf course is still plenty challenging, including the 245-yard par-3 8th hole, a scenic tee shot considered to be the course's signature. Gilroy Golf Course has suitable BBQ and outing facilities for larger groups.

The last ime I played at Gilroy Golf Course they had the greens the best they ever been since I started golfing there a week ago .But today was pretty much the same old greens ,grass needed cutting in certain areas but I did chip a 9 iron in the hole from 100 yards out on the 6th hole and birdied a few others .Not bad I guess
Fun little course
Not fancy but great fun, good burgers and friendly staff. Great golf bargin and challenging holes.
Worst course in the area, horrible person in Pro Shop, stay away!!!
I had 7:22 AM tee time on a weekend, arrived at 7:00 and entered the pro shop. Got yelled at by a person at a pro shop: "How did you get in? Please step outside!". I got it from the front door obviously, I was shocked and went outside. He treated me like I was going to steal something, the front door was not locked and I just entered as usual as I needed to check in.
Golf course was terrible, layout was one of the worst, pace of play was horrible, and it's only 9 holes x 2. After I finished 9 holes, I just left.
This is one course I WILL NEVER COME BACK.
I Shot my best game/Score @ Gilroy Golf
I had a decent game front 9 not to good but the back 9- I was on fire! Many pars and 1 puts. The 18th hole I drove the green 18 inches from the pin .Almost a hole in one :) hence BIRDIE!!!
Good value

Liked Gilroy Golf cours for its value..good chance to use irons @ 100 yrds to get to the green..cours well maintained ....no daisys..did not lose any balls

Value Venue
Located on the local wine trail, this course is sited in a beautiful area - vineyards, tree covered hills and scenic views. Only 11 holes, but with different tees, playing 18 is not an issue. The fairways and greens were in good condition, but some of the cart paths were unpaved and were a little bumpy. A good value course that I would definitely play again.

Always home to me
I have been playing Gilroy golf course for 20 years and love it. I am always treated like family and everyone there is great. Bruce and Don are great guys that always go out of their way to accommodate me. The course has recovered nicely from the brutal Winter. I try to get out there at least 3 times a month. The course is your best bang for your buck in the Bay Area

awesome day for golf
It was a great day for golf. I didn't play to well, but the weather was great, the course was very nice and I even got a birdie. The course has gotten much better since I last plyed there.

Going back to nature
The course is okay for saving a buck. It has a lot of strange repairs going on, like plywood to fix the cart bath bumps etc.
Rain Damage
I have played this course maybe 10 times. Most of the reasons is for the price and pretty easy to get a tee time. I'm not fond of hillside golf courses and this one is no exception. The greens are decent but the rest of the course one would describe as hillside pasture pool. I guess the city doesn't want to help out with a better budget.
The food is good at a very fair price. The locals are very friendly as are the staff. Today the course is in horrible condition with all the rain damage. I think they should close it a few days to stop the damage from getting worse. I'll still play here once in a while as the other nearby courses want $85.00 +
Not what I expected
The greens are nice, getting to them is almost impossible. The fairways where tall it felt like playing the rough. Lost balls do to dried grass every where. Looks like they mowed few days earlier.

Nice setting
I've lived in South County for 25 + years and this is the first time I've played here.
LIke others have said, it's a hidden gem!
Course has nice greens and of course this time of the year everything is green.
Great views throughout the day with all the hills and trees.
The cart paths need a little repair, perhaps a tractor with a box scrapper would do the trick. Although with all the rain the course is in good shape.
