Gilroy Golf Course
About
It might not have a lot of competition, but Gilroy Golf Course dubs itself as the "Best 11-Hole Golf Course in America." Built by local farmers and businessmen in 1923, this unique 11-hole routing east of Santa Cruz features small greens and wide, tree-lined fairways set along the Uvas Valley that has changed very little since its founding. Though not a full 18, the golf course is still plenty challenging, including the 245-yard par-3 8th hole, a scenic tee shot considered to be the course's signature. Gilroy Golf Course has suitable BBQ and outing facilities for larger groups.

Bad Day
Need a Marshall to push pace of play. Cart paths are in such terrible shape that you are forced to avoid them. Staff rude. Grill closed at 2:00 on Sunday! Even though staff was available. We will go elsewhere in future.
Good Value
Check-in/starter (Wilson - nice guy) very friendly. Really a 11-hole course - 7 redo holes from different tee box locations Greens are in good shape considering drought conditions. Kind of a ranch golf feel...no homes around - open range/farm land around course - somewhat peacefull.
Gilroy golf
Repaing some greens but it is okay. especially short holes are challenginh to players.
good value, worth a round
I think this is pretty much a locals course judging by the people playing ahead and behind me. The 9 hole cours in the rolling hills of Gilroy is pretty much wide open. You tee off on the back 9 from different tees. Holes 8 and 17 offer views from top of hill and make for interesting challenge. The cart paths are pretty rutted and green 4 was under repair. All in all, I found this a fun course for the average player and worth the money
Only 11 holes
Why doesn't golf now tell us it's 11 holes before we get there. What a joke
What drought?
We chose this course so we could finish before the 49er game... With the exception of a couple of greens (not sure what the cause was; had a temp green on #4), course was in nice condition. Played on a Sunday and finished in just over 3 hours & plenty of time to get home for the game. Very friendly staff.
Last One of the day
Course was Great & the weather was fantastic...This course ALWAYS challenges me & some of the views are fabulous ! ! ! I love Playing here, especially when Its with a Good Deal ! ! !
great 9 hole
Nice place for a 9 hole play if you are trying to have a short play day . A little on the costly side but it's ok on golfnow..
experience
Fast efficient got me out right away. Was done with round in 1 hour 30 minutes and I played with a walking partner.
Nice for newer golfers
This is a good place for those learning the game at a reasonable price. My biggest complaint is that the cart paths are really rough with pot holes.
Good course
Good course for the money. Course is in good shape for being in a drought. Staff is always friendly. Overall a good expirence every time
Hospitality
My 10 year old grandson's first full sized golf course after 3 years of lessons and many par 3 and executive courses. Bruce at the pro shop made us feel welcome by not demanding fast play from us. We only had one threesome pass us all day and that group is known as "runners". Great experience for us and a wonderful day of golf.
Solid value for money but serious drainage issues
Played here many times, but yesterday made it with me writing a review. There appears to some serious drainage issues. Broken pipes several of the cups on the greens still full of water. Greens squishy, most fairway shots you stood in water.
Love this course, good people and a great value for the money but ease work on drainage.
GILROY GOLF COURSE
The greens were in good shape. The fairways well kept.
9 hole great 18 no so good
Front nine play was under 2 hours, when we made the turn another group was inserted in between us and a 5 some and the course ground to a halt. Back nine was going to be over 3 hours so we just quit and went home. I'd recommend for 9 hole play but not for 18. Every time we play they do this and it makes for a real slow round.
Another good day at Gilroy Golf Course
Course was in great shape and very green despite recent hot weather. Most of the greens were good shape as well. Breakfast was delicious as usual, recommend breakfast burrito! Proshop is small, but has all the essentials and some nice apparel. Can't beat this course the price, best value in the county by far.
Great for money spend
Course has 11 holes but make 18 holes by share 7 holes.
Very interesting hole # 8 and 17. Staffs are very friendly.
Overall challenging course,
The course is more difficult than its rating, the uneven lie fairways and hard-to-read-green makes the course attractive. The only thing I feel that needs improvement is the cart path, which needs improvement immediately. Otherwise the course should be rated 5.
Nice and friendly staff and food..course is fun...but hard to get through 18 holes...
Intended to play 18 holes but the back up to play the second round of 9 and it was extremely backed up. To the point both the guy and I left after playing 9 holes although I paid for 18.
