Gilroy Golf Course
About
It might not have a lot of competition, but Gilroy Golf Course dubs itself as the "Best 11-Hole Golf Course in America." Built by local farmers and businessmen in 1923, this unique 11-hole routing east of Santa Cruz features small greens and wide, tree-lined fairways set along the Uvas Valley that has changed very little since its founding. Though not a full 18, the golf course is still plenty challenging, including the 245-yard par-3 8th hole, a scenic tee shot considered to be the course's signature. Gilroy Golf Course has suitable BBQ and outing facilities for larger groups.

Enjoyed my round
Pretty challenging, especially the greens. Interesting layout and some scenic holes. Biggest drawback is there are a lot of beginners out there that clog up the course at times. Good bang for the buck.
well maintained with enough challenges to satisfy the average golfer in a friendly golf environment
interesting and challenging course that is fun to play...a friendly staff and a good restraurant...the only shortcoming at the course is minor...the range could use some improvement but it still allows you the opportunity to do what you need to do before a round7/10/
Nice, reasonably priced course. Good staff.
This is a nice course to get out and practice my game. We were paired up with a very nice single and all had a good time. The staff was very friendly and very informative. They even made an effort to let us know that it might be a little slow on the back 9 due to some less experienced players in front of us, but it wasn't a problem. Very good value.
nice course
Enjoy playing course not to hilly. Enjoyed walking course.
Good weather and fairways, but greens and delays took away from a pristine experience.
Good weather and fairways. However, several greens had large bald spots that needed immediate attention. Also, with several seniors and novice golfers out in force, they caused significant delays. Should have had a marshaller move things along.
Course is in great shape
Great day. Course is in beautiful shape. Was a little wet in places but I prefer that in hot weather to dry/brown fairways. Definitely recommend this course. Price performer.
great experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to play here years ago, and liked it, now it"s in better condition, the greens and fairways are great, and very well maintained, now to my favorite hole no.8 with a majestic view, of the valley,it was great hitting the ball from the top of the hill, now I can"t wait to bring my friends back to share the same experience.
Challenging course, well maintained, and great value. Staff very friendly.
Challenging course, well maintained, and great value. Staff very friendly.
Nice course for the price.
Super deals during the week. The pace can be very slow depending on who is in front of you. Some of the greens could use attention but most are good. The fairways are wide.
8 of the greens and fairways are shared by 16 holes, just different tees. It is supriseing that this can work at all but somehow it does, but it can sometimes slow down the pace.
Lots to like
Course was much nicer than I expected. It was maintained well, fun to play, interesting, challenging, and priced right. My friend and I finished the round in 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon. The par 4s are LONG, you'll shake your head at what is required to get to the green in 2, and the greens are difficult. That being said, it's pretty wide open and you can bomb away with your tee shot and second shots. The scenery is nice, there are a lot of fun holes, and it's a very pleasant experience all around.
Best 11 hole course in bay area.
Very challenging course with5 wide fairways. Has that open feeling with a quiet atmosphere.
More difficult than course ratings.
The course is actually in better shape than I have seen it for quite some time. There are a couple of greens that have some areas that are dead, but overall they roll nicely. The greens are very hard to hold, balls hit very high and soft will NOT stay on. Aeration should be done to solve this problem. Also the cart paths are really rough, forcing you to drive on the grass if you want your body to not shake apart. For the price of the course its still a bargain and much more difficult than the 112 rating as the greens are very very small and have lots of slope and false fronts to deal with.
Unusual but very playable layout
A nine hole course with different sets of tee's to play 18, some tee's are very different some less so which keeps the interest up. In addition since the course really has 11 holes, when playing 18 holes you get to play all 11 holes. Not as complicated as it sounds, signs are good enough to get you through it.
ㅁI didn't know play 9 hole twice
Confusing course if I know this course is not good , I wouldn't drive 1.ht 40 min to go there
Local hotspot
Great local course value and friendly staff, you play some holes twice so you can make up a bad hole
Lot of fun for the value.
Great course outside of the city. Unique course is a lot of fun to play.
This course is well maintained, challenging and a very friendly & helpful staff!
Greate course, well maintained, very friendly &helpful staff!
Fairway and greens well maintained.
Enjoyed playing the course. Fairways were well maintained, however, it is very easy to lose a ball in the rough due to all the gopher holes and brush along the sides of the fairway. Few hazards such as ponds and sand traps.
good shape
greens were really fast that morning. course was in great shape only complaint was cart paths need to be paved. really rough pathways dirt and rocks.
A great starter course
This course is a nice transition for the beginner / progressing golfer from the 9 hole and executive courses to one with a few more challenges and contours.
