Gilroy Golf Course
About
It might not have a lot of competition, but Gilroy Golf Course dubs itself as the "Best 11-Hole Golf Course in America." Built by local farmers and businessmen in 1923, this unique 11-hole routing east of Santa Cruz features small greens and wide, tree-lined fairways set along the Uvas Valley that has changed very little since its founding. Though not a full 18, the golf course is still plenty challenging, including the 245-yard par-3 8th hole, a scenic tee shot considered to be the course's signature. Gilroy Golf Course has suitable BBQ and outing facilities for larger groups.

Not bad for the price...
I have lived in this area for awhile, and they have improved this course over the past few years. One downside, is because it is a cheaper course, you may get some really slow play, and also because it is a lower end course there are no marshals to keep them moving. Overall this course is a good deal, if you are not looking to pay $75.00 and up for some of the higher end course in the area..
Great course to sharpen youir gamme
Great bargain. It was a fairly difficult course for me as the greens are small with a good deal of slope. It's really a great course to get in some practice
so much harder than its 112 slope
11 holes with 7 alternate tee boxes to make 18. some fun holes. plays longer than yardage. greens very tricky.
This course is fun to play, and the whether is usually great.
Right now, the greens are not very good shape. Once the whether warms up, they usually get the greens back in good shape.
Excellent fast small green
Green condition - fast and smooth, small size make it challenge
Fair way - rough Bermuda grass would not roll the ball.
car path - most are unpaved created rough ride
T - one T area with artificial turf - pin can't penetrate.
10 hole course - probably difficult to interleave front and back 9 groups when both are merge onto hole 1.
Bunker - thick dry sand
Cow pasture
11 hole coarse with 9 holes different tee boxes
Fairways , well pasture, cart path what an adventure
No I'll pass at the Gilroy golf land but the the greens were not that bad compared to the rest of the joint the bright spot
Extremely picturesque with a unique layout.
Fantastic weekday morning, very quiet and misty morning. Walking this course is the best bet for good exercise and enjoyment of fantastic views. The trees are some of the most beautiful. I like the natural feeling on this course. The greens were excellent and firm, but no so fast the ball wont stop. I would make a special effort to play here again when traveling through the area.
Great deal tucked into the rolling hills
Two holes share a green and a few others are played twice, but that didn't matter to me. This is a really nice place to be for a very reasonable price. I walked it which was a bit of a chore at times. I also played at a light tme so I went at a very comfortable pace all by myself. They have a lot of young trees so I expect it will get better with time and I caught a beautiful late fall day so heat wasn't a problem.
Enjoy the course, great value for the price.
Enjoy the course, great value for the price. Excellent staff, very friendly. Carts and course are well maintianed.
Fun course for practice round
Practice green and range could use some help. Greens on course are in need of more consistency . Fairways have lots of different grasses hard to adjust for pitch and chip shots.Wide open fairways fun for a practice round.
Rough Rough
Stay out of the rough it's long and thick. Did not really like the dirt cart paths. Fairways were cut long too. I would expect a better cared for course for a course that has been around for so long. And 18 holes considering that there is plenty of open land surrounding it on 3 sides.
Fun Challenging course
This course really only has 11 holes and you play several twice, however it is really fun. The greens are really hard and the course has some length to it. There are better manicured courses but this one is never packed so you can always keep a good pace of play. For the money, it is the best bang of your buck in the bay area.
A good value for the buck. A thick skin is of use for the first timer or if you are used to premium service.
The course is in good condition. There is a definate boys club feel to the clubhouse area and some of the members will definately let you know they are a regular on the course also. The driving range is in poor condition and could use some work. The course itself is a fairly challenging run for the first timer and definately familiarity with the course will help your scores.
