About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

This is a tough course - fast greens and a challenging layout- but it is in awesome shape. Fairways are the nicest around. When you start to get cocky about your game, play here!

Rain check
We can not get rain(heavy, rain) check because we booked through Golf Now. They said that we can solve the problem through Golf Now. Is that course policy or Golf now policy ? We don't know relevant regulations. If it is, please, let us know about it. Thanks.
As far as the raincheck goes, if you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow, no money is paid to the pro-shop, so there is no money that is owed back from the course. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future! Thank you!

Fast Greens
Greatt accept for 2 things 1. Sand traps full of small pebbles (screen out all sand) add fresh sand too. Bottoms of bunkers ( no sand at bottoms). Some areas around greens are worn out and need sod.

Worth the Drive
I've played at many courses here in the Atlanta metro area and I was pleasantly surprise with the gem of a course. I will definitely be back.

Fun Layout, Well Maintained, Good Value
Really fun layout to the course with tons of elevation change and scenic holes. Moderately fast and challenging greens. Pace of play is always acceptable since tee times arent stacked too close. At the price point, its tough to beat when comparing to other similarly priced public courses in the Greater Atlanta area.

Very difficult layout but conditions were excellent pace of play also good. Recommend for golfers looking for a challenge .

Great Course
Great Course, with Great Greens. Really Love this layout. Greens are firm and fast. Bunkers need work, and better clubhouse amenities, but Love playing here each week.

Nice Reminder
Hadn't played this track in years, it was a nice reminder of when it was in the rotation. Overall great….not excellent rating is because of some bunkers. The greens are in great condition and fairways, rough all within expectation. Definitely a course worth the cost!!!

Father's Day Round
Hot day for Father's day. Course is in good, not great conditions... a few greens had some small issues, nothing too problematic, and some fairways need more water, but the rain this week will help that. We had fun and enjoyed the day without playing our best. Be sure to be below the holes... tricky reads and fast down grain and down hill.

Enjoyable around of Golf!
If you’re looking for a challenging yet fair golf course, Cherokee Run does not disappoint! Lots of elevation changes, firm fairways, fast, undulating greens - all in very good condition! Pace of play was spot on! Played from the Blue Tees - played just under 6600 yds. Rating 72.8 / Slope 139. Shot 75! Will definitely be back!

Not a bad course
Course conditions were good, greens were rolling well. Only issue I had was paying $40 for a riders fee. Seems pretty steep if you ask me. Also didn’t need an extra comment about bringing a rider and not to do it again from the pro shop staff after calling in hours before tee time to ask what their rider policy was as I know each course is different and was told that it was completely okay. Outside of that course is pretty good.
