Cherokee Run Golf Club

About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

Nice course.
Course was an excellent condition. Jeans were a little tough to read, but that could be a personal problem. Can’t wait to go back again and try to play it a little better next time.
Very nice
Long from standard men’s tees compared to most. Challenging but fair. Course was is excellent condition. Greens roll great, tough to read though. I can’t wait to play it again to improve on my not so good score from the first time.
Great Shape
The course is in great shape minus a few places where the are fixing some drainage.
Great Course and Friendly Staf
I had a great experience playing at The Providence Golf Club. The course was in excellent condition, with well-maintained fairways and smooth greens. The staff was friendly and helpful from start to finish. The pace of play was just right, and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this course to friends and look forward to coming back again.
Happy to assist.
I was very pleased when I informed Steven in the clubhouse that I was handicapped and needed assistance. He happily and professionally agreed to program the golf cart so that I could get closer to the greens. Stephen was more than cooperative, and I really appreciate it.
Course is in great shape even with the dry, hot weather
Greens have come back nicely after aeration. Zoysia fairways are always in great shape
Slipping a little
I play this course because it is typically in very good condition. This time I knew in advance that the greens had been recently aerated so I'm not going to complain about that. What I did find disappointing was the condition of the bunkers, quite a few of them gullywashed and as a result unplayable. That's something that can be fixed quite easily so I wondered why nothing had been done. Bottom line: a golf course that earns my repeated business doesn't take days off or leave patrons to fend for themselves.
Great value at $70, nice layout, fun but challenging
Me and 2 friends played here over 4th of July weekend. We played 18 holes in 4hrs 24mins, so right on pace. Spacing was fair, we kept up with the group ahead of us. Some pretty fun hole layouts, nice driving range area with a chipping green/sand bunker, and a putting green. Course was in good shape, clubhouse was very nice, staff was nice as well. They do keep a beverage cart coming around for all your alcohol needs.
Terrible looking fairways
I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. But today, it looked 3rd rate. The fairways looked awful- yellow, dingy and the sprinklers were turned on on every hole right about the landing spot for most drives. I had to dodge sprinkler water to run and grab my ball and move it just so I could hit my second shot. Aggravating as crap.
Great course
The course needed some rain and had some dry spots but it was in good shape and is a great and challenging layout.
Nice and demanding
Fantastic course, if you are a beginner the course can be demanding. The fairways in good shape and the greens are fast.
Hot Round
Played in afternoon - hot round but fun - course in great shape. Worth the trip.
