About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

Great Course
Played here a few weeks ago and playing here again tomorrow. My only displeasure with this course was the teeboxes. Everything else was in great shape.

Great Time
Started off with a beer and a hotdog in the clubhouse. Course was in great shape for this time of the season. Layout is fun, but there's so many blind shots. They have a gps system in the carts that helps let you know if there's golfers ahead. I can't imagine how the place ran before then!

Nice track
Isolated, tough course. Makes you use your noggin! Course was in pretty good shape, a few bare spots here and there but for the most part it was well maintained. Definitely would play again.

Absolutely stunning course and in great shape
This course is in incredible shape at the moment. The greens are some of the fastest tournament style greens I've ever played. Course layout is challenging and fun. There is not a single house on the course, its peaceful, feels very isolated in a good way and is set back into the woods beautifully. Absolutely worth the money, I will be coming back to this course many times over after playing here for the first time.

Great test of golf
The course is in the best condition of any of the other courses we have played recently. The greens are fast but incredibly smooth. Fairways are firm but very green. Playing the ball down is not a problem at all. Well worth the trip.

Fantastic all around course
No beer cart on a sunny Saturday, but the 19th hole has snacks, sandwiches and hot dogs ready to go. Decent prices but recently increased. Dogs used to be less than $3… solid chipping area with a bunker. Grass range was in good shape. Very fast greens when the sun gets on them, tons of fun. 17 and 18 are very reachable par 4 and par 5 perfect for a 9th inning comeback

Great Course design. Great price.
This is one of my favorite courses within 90 minutes of NE Atlanta. Greens are very fast. All the grass is healthy, minimal minimal bald spots and weeds. Super fun layout with Drivable par-4s, long par-3s, and risk/reward par-5s that you can reach in two if you put your tee shot in the right spot. The hills in the fairway are tons of fun to play off of, unlike most courses where the hills are just punishing and annoying. I played at 1:30 on a beautiful Saturday and never had to wait on any group in front of me somehow.

Not a good course to play a late tee time. They kick you off at 7:20 when it’s perfectly light out. So glad I got my moneys worth

Awesome Course, Great Value
This is a fun course. Layout is challenging, forgiving at times, and dramatic with granite slabs, big elevations, and fast greens. Pace of play wasn't great, but it was perfect golf weather, so it was busy. The range is a little small, but they have a nice chipping area to wait for a spot to open. There are no houses on this course, which I love. And the holes rarely double back on each other.

Great Value for Metro Golf, tough walker.
This course is almost always well maintained, and the greens are always nice. I prefer to walk courses, and I walked 18 this time, and it is a grind at Cherokee Run. Very, very hilly with some long stretches of cart path. But I survived. Prob ride here next time though.

The greens are the best anywhere this time of year! No point in going anywhere else for rolling the ball! Spectacular holes and layout! Grass on fairways growing well for good lies. Worth the trip!
