About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

An A P design that is really worth the trip. Many holes breathtaking, and very challenging. Greens were fantastic for this early spring. Will return ASAP.

I have been playing this course since it first open up the course doesn"t drain well the last few times we played same condition several holes cart path only and it didn"t rain at all We played The Providence Club in Monroe after two days of rain and it was in way better shape than Cherokee no sand in the traps We used to brag on this course and conditions we all said we wouldn't be coming back soon even though we love the course need to have a company to come in and look at your drainage situation Its too nice of a course to let go down the hill, When I return to the course I hope that I can give a better Review Thanks

Nice value on seniors Fridays
When we played it was very wet and that can't be held against the course. Look look forward to playing it someday when it is not so wet..

Spectacular environment and layout
I could not believe the course held up after torrential rainstorms on Tuesday. I got 27 in on Wednesday. The layout was stunning. The greens were tough but true. The course makes you hit golfshots but its also fair.
Highly recommend it. No wonder its top rated in ATL

Would definitely play again
The proshop staff and starter were excellent. We arrived straight from airport on our way to the Augusta for the Masters and they were very accommodating. Lunch was great. The course was in good shape as expected coming out of the winter season. Pace of play was a bit slow but I imagine every public course is packed for the Masters and we weren’t in any rush either.

Cherokee Run Golf Course - Good Value
Paid $55.00 for tee time at 2:54 pm (single). Grouped with two other golfers.
Course is coming back to shape now that Spring is starting up.
Overall good course conditions and layout. You can tell the course gets a lot of play but it was a good experience.
I will play again and add it in to my GA course rotation
