About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

Second time just as great as first

Awesome and gorgeous layout
If you are in the area this is a must play in my opinion. The property is absolutely stunning and seems to be just an ideal location for a golf course. It is an unbelievably creative, challenging, and extremely fun Arnold Palmer design. Scenic views all around and many holes bring various interesting and challenging hazards and obstacles. Many holes feature beautiful exposed granite areas along with various bodies of water. This course is an ideal venue for anybody from a single golfer on sunday or a highly competitive foursome. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that some of the black teeboxes were in need of some TLC but nothing too bad that it affected play. I would recommend this course to any golfer looking for a great value for a course that has potential to be a high end private club if they desired.

Excellent course
Cherokee Run was the toughest course I’ve ever played. Most holes had significant elevation changes, multiple obstacles, bunkers surrounding more than half of the green. Fairways were tight, rough was in good condition but deep enough to swallow a ball. Very few areas under repair. Greens were excellent, fast, and most required excellent touch on your approach in order to keep your putt on the green. A good mixture of holes that rewarded long drives, that required small target iron play, and that required a controlled drive. A storm cut my round short so I didn’t get to finish 17 or play 18, but I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and excellent condition of the course.

Fun challenge
Traps need help. Layout was fun. Priced right and great 19th hole. Watch your speed on central parkway!

Cherokee Run never disappoints
Brought a friend from out of town to Cherokee Run. He was impressed on the first hole. We had to leave after the 13 hole, pace was a little slow and it was a Friday on Labor Day weekend. So pace was to be expected. Enjoyed what we could finish and he wants to play again he comes back to Atlanta.

Good layout but need some sand
First time playing here. The layout is good and it is a beautiful course. But the bunkers had no sand. I mean none at all. It rained the night before. So the bunkers had water instead. All of them. They didn’t even try to pump water out. Also it had too many fruit flies.. The gentleman at the check in wasn’t that friendly. But the marshal was very friendly. I will try one more time and see whether any improvements are made.

This course is in excellent shape and the greens roll pure
I have played here many times over the years but I have to say it's been a pretty wet summer and this course along with many others have benefited from it. The fairways are lush and the ball sits perfectly, the greens are in great shape and roll fast even in the morning dew.
I had the first tee time at 7:12. The pro in the shop told me to tee off when I was ready and have fun. I did just that. Walked off the course at about 9:15. I love playing with friends but there is nothing like having a course to yourself and breezing around at your own pace.
