About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

Glad I played it
The greens are remarkable. True and very fast. The tee boxes need work, and unfortunately we ( a twosome) got stuck behind a foursome with no concept of etiquette. It's an hour drive so I won't be showing up weekly, but, will be back.
Challenging green complexes
Great course, there are a couple of holes that I just don’t care for, but overall a great course and great greens! Greens are firm and fast, expect a big , first hop, into them!! It was cool in the morning and warmed up nicely but it meant everything was different from morning to afternoon, great time! Played on a Friday so @ $55, can’t beat it, but would play the course regardless! Check it out!

Wow
This place is magic. Bent greens out there and they are absolutely pure. Not a blemish on them and lightning fast, ball rolls true to the line. Fairways are also bent so they’re nice and springy - lots of roll out. Bunkers perfect. Challenging little track from the blue tees,, but a very fair course. Back tees are 500 yds longer than blue tees so don’t bite off more than you can chew. Place shots wisely and you could go low out there

Coming around
Today’s round was very nice. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Under the current state of things due to the coronavirus, the course requires booking tee times/payment, online. One player per cart to conform to the practice of social distancing. I liked this quite frankly. I feel it made for a better pace of play. The course is in great shape considering all of the rain we’ve had lately. Some parts of some fairways were washed out but, recovering. The greens were in great shape and rolling well. I love this course and can’t wait to see it back to its old self in a few more weeks.

Fantastic Shape!
This course was amazing! Greens were fast and true, bunkers dry and raked, fairways and collars in excellent condition. GREAT value for the price and am definitely heading back!

Found this on Golfnow app — even with rain and some soft conditions here and there — course was in great shape. Staff was friendly, helpful. Greens were in f great shape. Will certainly play again !!!

Could be good if dry!
We looked forward to playing here and we are still doing so! The Georgia weather has been dreadful with heavy rain and snow so the course was soggy, very soggy. Not the course's fault but not the right conditions for golf. A number of challenging holes, but decent greens for the time of year. We enjoyed our round and can see that this is a course we would like to return to. But that would have to be in drier conditions.

Great Golf
Great place to play. Fairways, greens and bunkers always well maintained. Not an easy course but beautiful to see and play. Plan to shoot a few strokes higher than you're used to and enjoy.

Very Challenging Course
The course requires you to put your ball in fairway and the correct spot on greens. You definitely want to be below the hole.

Wet
It was rainy the ;last two days and course holds water...Ground was soggy but still decent top play Pace of play was great considering cart path only but finished with in 3:30 hours .....Always a great course to play
