Such a great place
Played in just over 4 hours. Greens were perfect. Need sand in bunkers though.

Good for the Money
Cottonwood has not changed much in the last 10 years. It's a good course for under $100.00, much better then say Carton Oaks, Greens are pretty good. Overall a good course.

Cottonwood IS East county San Diego.
Some places a little rough and some places a little dry
Overall a nice place to play for 18 holes. Staff is always friendly and the cafe is friendly but a little... Vintage. It's a nice flat walk and always fresh air. More pickup trucks than Teslas. I'd rate the greens 95% good. Fairways 80%. If you're in the rough you deserve it. Have fun here

Green fees too highn ot worth 50. Fairways bad, greens nice, no sand in bunkers.

Bumpy ride
Fairways and dirt cart paths are incredibly bumpy, so much so, that my range finder dislodged a few times.
Good Conditions
Very busy on a Friday. Had to wait for carts. Bare fairways from the past are now mostly filled in. Bumpy dirt cart paths and fairways had me holding laser finder from falling off.

Fun Track
I hadn’t played this course since 2022, and I’m really glad I made it back. This was actually my first time playing the back 9, and it ended up being a lot of fun—definitely adds a new appreciation for the layout.
We teed off on a Sunday and the round took about four and a half hours, which honestly isn’t bad at all given the day. The pace felt pretty reasonable throughout.
One thing I noticed was the greens on the back were noticeably faster than the front. I’m guessing that has something to do with aerification being done about a month ago, but either way, they rolled well and kept things interesting.
Overall, a great experience, and I’m already looking forward to getting back out there again soon.
