Decent Fairways and Greens.
Tee box are ok for what it is. Fairways for the most part are actually not bad. They'll prop the ball up and generally give you a soft lie to hit from. The grass around the greens are pretty good. The greens seem like they'll be good, hard to tell as they were punched a week or two back. Expect COVID pace of play, ie slow....which means you can find raging drunks mad at the slow pace. I'd say the course is playable if you can find a rate under $30 and you live nearby. Steele Canyon is right next door if you're making a drive out to El Cajon.

Twas a nice day....been a while since i've seen it so green.....beware the greens are pretty slow, even down hill you gotta hit em hard........it was sure nice, hope they can keep it up........

Good value at a reasonable price
The course is in good shape considering it is being aerated for the warmer months. The golf shop is small and dated but the staff is friendly & helpful.

Aerated greens filling in nicely, but they were very slow. Course overall in good condition. Unfortunately the food/beverage cart was broken/unavailable.

Great deal nice course
I like Cottonwood it has a lot of trees and if you don’t hit it straight they are in play. I think it’s a great deal compared to any other 18 hole course near by. Check it out!

Weekend was packed
The course is fun, the staff are amazing and friendly but the pace of play was painfully slow.
On 8 of the first 9 holes there were two groups waiting to tee off.
Will play again just not on a weekend.

Decent conditions
Probably more than 5 years since I played here. Pleasantly surprised by how nice the course is. There are a lot of courses that charge the same fee, but are in lousy shape. I recommend Ivanhoe.

Best bang for your buck
Fairly easy course to play. Not a lot of hazards (water or bunkers). Plays in 3 1/2-4 hrs. Greens usually fast . Great course great staff

Good Course, exxxtremely slow
Course and greens were fine but close to a 6 hour round. Completely breaks the rhythm. Spoke to the starter at the turn, who acknowledged it was ridiculously slow but did nothing about it. At one point there were 5 groups on a par 5 (one on green, one on approach, one in fairway and two on the tee box)

New Golf Carts
Long waiting for this one change!!! It finally happened! The carts are new and very comfortable to ride, they are even equipped with USB ports to charge your electronic devices. Perhaps our rounds will be more enjoyable since we won't have to wait for a replacement cart in the middle of the #2 fairway or the back nine somewhere...Kudos to management! Staff is friendly as always!
