The Trophy Club of Apalachee

I booked a tee time directly through Apalachee Trophy Golf Club’s website for July 8th at 12:21 PM, clearly selecting and paying for 18 holes. I arrived 30 minutes early, only to be informed by an employee named Eric that the back 9 was closed and the tee time I booked was “only for the front 9.” He blamed a supposed issue with their website.

When I showed him that my confirmation clearly stated 18 holes, he began changing his explanation and claimed they had been trying to fix the pricing issue with the website provider, but the provider “refused to change it”—which makes no sense.

I asked to speak with the manager, who doubled down on Eric’s story and refused to honor the 18-hole booking. He also dismissed the concern and told me that the price I paid for 18 holes was “still a good price for 9 holes,” which is a ridiculous and unacceptable response.

This was a complete waste of time—not just for me but for my 3 friends who came out to play. The club should be held accountable for false advertising, and I plan to report this to the Better Business Bureau. I will not be returning, and I strongly suggest others avoid this course until they fix their booking system and start treating customers with honesty and respect.

This is absolutely worst course I have ever played.

Golfnow,com was booked for 18 holes. when arrived course was under renovation and 9 holes were closed off. we could only ply 9 holes.

Booked a tee time online for 18 holes only to arrive at the course and have the back 9 closed. Not only this, but the range is closed as well. Figured why not just play the 18 (front 9 twice) since I made the drive out there, but no that wasn’t going to happen either. The staff said though we booked 18 we could only play holes and they overbooked the front 9. Consistently one of the worst experiences in golf time and time again at this place.

Worst round ever here. To many people who think it’s a practice round and take two, three, four shots per stroke until they get the shot they want. The group in front drove backwards 20 yards to drop a ball and hit it again. Certainly groups have no etiquette on the golf course.

This place is out there, far from Atlanta. Even though the rate was good, the layout and distance traveled negate the value for me,

Staff are friendly. Course was in mixed shape. Fairways and greens were decent, tee boxes a slight different story, The course has fairly narrow fairways to encourage a short game. I think the fees are a bit on the high side for the course, maybe $15-$20 too high, This might be what some call a backup course, With rain everyday for last week or so, course was soggy.

This course has a major pace a play issue. Not sure if the starter or ranger need a refresher on pace of play, but it is terrible here. Finished 11 holes in 4 hours. Finished hole 11 to seeing a 4-some on the tee box of hole 12, another 4-some waiting to tee off and a 4-some in the fairway. Then my group waiting also. Then decided to drive the carts to find an opening to not succeeding at that. From the tee box at hole 12 to the green at 18, there were 26 groups playing. That is insane. Never been to a course this bad at pace of play.

The greens are actually great. But tee to fairway and everything in between….. no thanks. Tee boxes, and fairways incredibly overgrown. The rough was super long to the point I lost 2 balls just in the second cut.

This was a great experience for me and our threesome. The layout is just great, the pro shop was helpful and friendly. I got a Brat from the restaurant before heading to the driving range. They also have brisket And pulled pork sandwiches. I wish I had played here sooner. Lots of Pros, course layout, challenging but get able for par and looks at the occasional birdie. Now for the cons, the course is very popular and rightly so, but the tee boxes are definitely in rough shape. But the rest of the course was in great shape, greens were pretty firm and challenging. Overall, my group and I had a great time. This is going onto my play again list, I could see playing here more often. Great value for what you get, even with the higher tee fee, we weren’t waiting too long even though we had a noon tee off, pace of play was good, you didn’t have the folks holding everyone up the day we played.

While the golf course is always solid I'm a little irritated that Golf Now charged me for fees for $61.34!! Makes nonsense as they charge me for taxes, fees, and whatever extra then I pay taxes at course. This doesn't seem right.

This course is not worth any amount of money spent. Honestly, just pay a little bit more and go to a decent one. It takes the joy away from Golf. I won’t play this course again. I don’t know how they can actually charge people money for what they offer. Fairways greens sand traps. Everything was horrible. The pictures will speak for themselves. I promise you you will not regret spending another 20 or $30 and playing at an actual golf course and spending an entire day on having fun this course really irritates you if you wanna play golf.

It was a great day of golf, greens were in very good shape. Fairways were perhaps a little dry, almost like a concrete, but it is due to the season.

Great value for the cost.
