Turkey Creek Golf Club

About
Turkey Creek Golf Club in Lincoln sprawls across rolling hills that are covered with mature oak forests. The back nine even closely resembles Germany's Black Forest. The centerpiece of the course is the old granite quarry that was transformed into an expansive lake that comes into play on the third and final holes. The golf course is formidable, testing golfers with blind shots and uneven lies, but the challenges are nicely balanced by long, open fairways. Water comes into play several times throughout as well as the towering trees that blanket the landscape. The course will keep golfers on their toes but there is plenty of visual respite available. Players can often catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that call Turkey Creek Golf Club home, including deer, quail, foxes, and of course, wild turkeys.

18th tee box, with a few elevation changes and water on the left. If you feel confident, slug it off to the left and clear the water, putting you in a great position for a second shot to the green Photo submitted by copz1998 on 07/20/2018

Great course, but some questions about other clientele.
Course was in excellent condition; the layout provides for a variety of shot making & pace of play was good. However, I find it somewhat questionable that our group left a wedge just off the green on two separate holes and yet none of the groups that followed us claimed to have found either club despite the fact each club was left between the cart path and the green. I called the pro shop the following day and they indicated no clubs were turn in. What a sad reflection on honesty of the golf community in Placer County - in a rather well-to-do community. Spoiled what was a great afternoon of golf.
18th Tee is always a problem
For the second time in a row that I have played this course there were four groups waiting on 18th tee. Because of a scramble and slow play. That hole is the worst part of every round I play at Turkey Creek.
Turkey Creek Golf Course Lincoln
Great course, well kept. Only complaint was that one of the Marshalls came up to us to let us know we were behind pace. This was before he knew when we had our tee time! There was nobody close to behind us and we were not lagging whatsoever, seemed the man just has a power trip that instead of just saying hello he had to give some sort of unwarranted directive that was completely not correct.
Not as nice as it used to be
Aside from the sanded greens, fairways are patchy and just not mowed. Rough is long and crab grass. Hate to see a good track not looking very good.
Need a course marshall
I left in frustration after 11 holes that took almost 3.5 hours to complete. No continuity to play. Hit a ball, then wait 10 minutes to hit again.
The course is normally a very fair test of golf and was in good enough shape.
Slow Going
Got stuck behind two slow foursomes. Took 0ver 5 hours to complete round. Did not see any marshal on course.
Great and Average
Overall, I’m a big, big fan of this track. Period it’s a great design and absolutely one of the more interesting courses in the greater Sacramento area. On the other side of the balance sheet, as usual the greens are rolling way too slow.
Nice round
EARLY morning tee time resulted a sub 4 hour round. Course was in good shape, tees and green surrounds were just aerated. The greens were good though. I will be back.
Beautiful course
I’m always impressed by the landscape… incredible rock formations, turkeys of course, and variety .. i think it’s got to be one of the most beautiful layouts in the valley. !!
Not a good place for a novice
Though track to play for the first time. Will definitely need to play a few times to attack it. Beautiful tho. Range is great, with grass.
Pace of Play was sub par
Tee time was at 4:00pm on a Friday afternoon. Seems like the high school kids or younger players are getting out to the course and not keeping the pace. We turned around at hole # 13 3.5hours into the round. There was a foursome and a two some stacked at the tee box when we decided to turn around. The foursome was hitting multiple tee shots per person.
Hi,
We get about 12-20 clubs per week turned in to the pro-shop. Give us a call and check now that a week or more has passed.
