Merced player
Fairways very rough for the price and dry mostly but alot off broken. Sprinkler mud holes that they had staked off sand traps some no sand although the greens were in fair condition its a fair public course not worth a hour drive to play 😉
failed to disclose the course is in aeration phase
Golfnow has been failed multiple time on me to disclose the true course condition. This time, even worse. Course green has done aeration in few days. Hole 10 closed. the fairway is under go renovation. tiny rocks on the fairway everywhere. Have not played here for 5 months, it getting really disappointed. I lost the appetite to finish the round.
GC looks all beat up
The only good thing about this GC is the greens are in great condition. I’ll wait a year or 2 before I play this GC again.
In poor condition
Tee boxes were sloped, bunkers were inconsistent (some greenside bunkers had super hard, compacted sand and others were decent), fairways were poor (muddy areas, just dirt in other areas, scattered with patches of grass). Overall, a poorly maintained golf course.
Ruff Condition
Way to many areas under repair. Sprinklers running in the middle of the fairway in the middle of the day. On quite a few holes they were large sections with no grass that butted it up to the greens. It was like trying to pitch off of concrete, when you’re only a few feet away from the green. Quite a few wet muddy areas leading up to the mouth of the greens. I found the greens to be in really good condition, though the sand was hard and compacted. I’m going to return next spring and give it one more chance. Just looks like it’s been played hard, and needs a real facelift.
Worth $35
They don’t really want non residents playing. If you can find a price around $35 its worth it. Far too many courses in better shape for $30 out ther
Pace of Play
During my last round at Las Positas it took 3 1/2 hours to play 9 holes. After first 9 left due to rough course conditions and horrid pace of play.
