The course is in good shape. The staff is friendly.
Once fun, now it's poorly maintained
I've been playing at Bixby Village all through COVID and the conditions this last weekend were atrocious. The bunkers are hard packed and covered in weeds, the fairway wasn't maintained and the greens were suuuuuper slow. My whole group agreed we can't see ourselves coming back, which is a shame since we'd liked playing there and the value for the money was great.
Bunkers like concrete
I'm not kidding. The so-called "sand" is so old and compacted that I and others have confessed that they have been injured trying to get out of any of Bixby's bunkers. Something needs to be done to prevent any more injuries. I have played this course off and on for over 25 years. Thank you

Fun to play
I have been playing occasionally on Tuesdays since October 2020. I have liked the course and have seen it improve. The greens roll smooth and true. What kind of grass is it? I asked at the pro shop and no one knew. The Pro Shop staff and course staff are always friendly. Bixby is a good course and one my regulars.

Bixby Village Golf Long Beach Great Place
Bixby is an excellent value with many short holes and and a couple challenging, left and right , directional holes.
lots to offer for a 9 hole course. Get a discount on your second same day round if they can fit you in. Beautiful day on April 11, with wind sun, bunkers, varied greens and a lot of fun. Gameplay moved well and I would golf again there real soon.
Fun neighborhood 9 hole
Super convenient, easy to get a Tee time, fun 9 hole golf course. Good variety of holes and we always meet nice people. It can get a little backed up but is a fun little course.

Easy to get in and out...
Local, cheap, great first course, family leisurely. Suggest they space out a bit more otherwise your forced to do it yourself.
