Monterey Pines Golf Club

On a normal day the staff is very friendly and accommodating, unless the golf manager is there.

He was very rude and unfriendly. He couldn't believe I got a tee time with cart for the price I did. He questioned the legitimacy of my deal and made me feel like I was somehow cheating them. Did not treat me with a good customer service attitude.

The rest of the staff tried to make up for his rudeness.

Pace of play for a Monday was terribly slow.

Certain sections of the course were in need of help, I.e., parts of the fairway are dried out.

It is, however, a fun, short course.

I'm the type of golfer who knows what to hit, grabs the club and hits the ball. I hate slow play. Yesterday was super. A group in front, a group behind and it was Sunday noon and everyone was moving along nicely. The course was in good shape. A warm greeting when we arrived and off to the first tee. Short course for seniors but fair. My nephew who can power the ball , could not out score me.

Great alternative choice to drive out from the South Bay, and lose the crowds, the high prices, and typical valley courses. This is a fun shorter track with a lot of 300 & change par 4's that allow for many different tee club choices. Perfect for walking/ pushing and/ or carrying, and still be up for dinner with the wife later.

This course is doable for the moderate to high handicappers because it's not a long course but has some challenging holes. We play this course often because it's a fairly low-key environment for golf....

Had a tee time on a Sunday morning with all the regulars (and im not a regular) and the gentleman i played with were exceptional guys! Course was perfect. Not easy but not difficult. Staff was awesome and kept everyone happy and moving along so no waiting. Thank you everyone at the course!

We enjoyed our around with the only exception is that the greens at recently been sanded and it was hard to judge your speed otherwise everything was fun

Pleasant course, excellent condition (April). Not one bad lie for the day and greens were super. Perfect for senior golfers and for the occasional round, but a little too short to be challenging. Will play again.

Great, short, course for beginners and intermediate golfers. Friendly staff. Amazing value for how great the course condition is.

I've been playing Monterey Pines for a while. Typically go at least once a week for golf and more often for the driving range/chipping area. Overall the course is great and an excellent value. The only problem I've ever had was with some old retired guys that like harassing younger players on the course. Unfortunately there is a small group of old guys that play here daily and like to be obnoxious. The marshal was notified and handled it in the MOST inappropriate way possible. I've been playing for 25 years and have never seen a marshal be more rude or condescending. This is not to say all older guys on this course are like this. Most are great! But there is a crew of bullies that play here often. You have to watch for them Especially because certain marshals allow them to be drunken degenerates on the course. My advice is to play here in the afternoon once this particular group is done and half passed out from all the beer they drink on the course and in the clubhouse. I've seen them do this multiple times. The staff needs to do a better job of controlling them. It doesn't matter that they play there every day or are friends with the staff, etc. Decorum must be kept. I still play here, but know that there are a very different set of rules for these particular guys that play there every day.

The staff is warm and friendly, our tee time was spot on. A tournent was starting an hour later so the kitchen was packed.. we ordered made our tee time .. and Neil brought out our food to us a few holes later. The course plays extremely well and fun to play..

If you are a bogey golfer, this is the best value around. It's tricky enough to challenge a low handicap. Take your long hitting friend and kick his butt with accuracy. Course is a great equalizer

Play it nearly 75% of the time. Great staff. Decent practice facilities. It's a 8-9 out of 10

I found the course to be in great condition. I had a 7:24 a.m. tee time as a single. I was able to fill out a threesome with a group that often play together. It was a great foursome. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I look forward to playing the course again soon.

The course is in great shape and fun to play. It is moderately challenging so it makes for a relatively stress free round.
