Monterey Pines Golf Club

For years 'Navy' was a run down course. At present it is in the best shape I've ever seen it in 20 years of playing golf here. Easy, fun, great course for the average guy who wants to have a good time and not end up feeling like he was run over by an elephant.

Second time here, perfect weather. Had a 2pm tee time showed up almost an hour early as there was no traffic and was told we could go when ready. No one in front or behind. Until 18, single caught us. Greens were nice and broke true. Fairways and rough were very green and mowed. Carts now have gps as accurate as rangefinder.

We started out as a single but the pace was slow with the people in front of us. We ended up having the threesome behind us join us. They were nice fellows who played there regularly. They were able to help us with how the course played. Overall a great day!

My good friend and I had an amazing time golfing at Monterey Pines for my 63rd birthday. This was my first time playing this course and had an absolute amazing day. The course layout pay a play condition. We’re all excellent thank you so much for a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday.

Now it should be noted that I have played this course close to one hundred times since 2000. Long before the renovation that truly transformed this course from local cheap goat track. To the excellent, well maintained course it is today. However, like pretty much every course on this site . You receive absolutely now indication of the status of the greens. AERATED GREENS should always be noted. As well as any scheduled maintenance anywhere near the potential scheduled date. Especially if it’s to include greenside conditions. Surely such information would could effect bookings. But then again what is the effect of booking, travel to, and purchasing accommodations. Only to find out the greens have been freshly aerated. In conclusion, it should be noted that Monterey Pines(GC) is obviously, not alone or necessarily at fault for this lack transparency. But I’m confident these disclosures would be appreciated by all parties concerned.

Monterey Pines is in very good condition. Fun to play and was very happy overall.

Great course but it is so slow need to space out t times

I’ve played this course a few times now. And it’s always my go to while visiting Monterey. The course is in great condition.

The Pines is a great place to play. Course layout is great and the conditions were good.

My only concern was that there were too many divots on the greens which is not the staff’s fault. If players would fixed their divots, greens would be better.

Had a great time playing on 4th of July. Thanks for lowering the price to play. 🏌🏽‍♂️🏌🏽‍♂️
