Nice round of Golf on a very nice day!
Admittedly Newport golf course could stand to be better kept, But you are within just a few minutes from the beach and the weather is generally very moderate. The Price is very good too. I don't want to beat it too bad. The Driving Range is nice and the snack bar is decent. No Bar Cart girls though....
Worse and worse
Been playing here for years but it’s getting a bit out of hand now. Mud and trash everywhere, tee box mats look like they were purchased 30 years ago. No carts available for anyone! This place is rough.
On the other hand, club house/bar is one of the best I’ve been to. Great drinks and awesome food. The Italian sandwich is worth coming here for alone.

Needs a lot of love
Very poorly maintained. Food in clubhouse was good. Golf cart was good and practice green was good. Course is horribly maintained. You tee off of turf on every hole and they are in poor shape too. Greens are rough. Very collegiate on a lot of levels. Would not go back unless it was overhauled.

Staff sucked, tee boxes were off mats and most of them were rough. Greens were good.

It’s a chill course
It’s a pretty chill course, it’s by the John Wayne Airport so if you complain about that you’re making excuses but up or shut up, the only thing for me that was really different was playing from mats. Other than that it’s a chill course nice 18 course to walk, I’ve never walked an 18 course but this one wasn’t too bad to walk. Forsure will come back

Slow slow slow
By the 4th hole there was a 4 group line up waiting to tee off. Just atrocious pace of play and makes for a longer than necessary round.

Trash Course
Course is absolute trash... Need I say more? Save your money and go play Meadowlark or Costa Mesa Country Club’s 2 courses.

Father’s Day…
Pace of play was extremely slow with up to each group playing 6 players- I understand Father’s Day but course care was neglected big time. Dads- teach your kid to fix his divots and ball marks. Spent the day fixing greens and watching pelicans beat the ball 20ft.
On big days put a Marshall out pushing place of play with a case of fireballs- win win for both player and course. Great that lights works but there are some dark spots on the back 9.

Grass Tee Box!
Haven’t played here in more than a decade. They’ve really made it enjoyable. Not every hole has a mat!! Awesome improvement. I think all holes on the back have a grass tee box. Greens were great and I couldn’t believe people had golf carts. I’ll be back.
Overpriced and always busy
One of the longer executive type courses around here. The greens are in decent shape as well as the tee boxes. I went to go play last week. Had a 6AM tee time and when I went to get I. My car at 5:30 it wouldn’t start so I couldn’t go. But of course I got charged still. Kind of ridiculous. A course that is packed all the time and really because it’s the only one around, charges me for a tee time I so desperately wanted to go to but couldn’t. Disgusting
