About
Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nince holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style.
The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, the original designer of the Pebble Beach Links. It opened in 1960, and is laid out in true links design over dunesland that approaches the sea.
Over looking the course is the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Built in 1855, it is the longest continuously operating lighthouse in California. It is a historical sentinel and picturesque landmark of the golf course.
A scenic tour of the dramatic coastline provides views of Lover's Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond and the natural dunesland at Asilomar. You will be enchanted by the abundance of natural wonders such as the plentiful Pacific Blacktail Deer, seals, sea lions, sea otters, pelicans and gulls.

Very good course.
I was able to enjoy playing while feeling the beautiful beach view.
Ocean views
Usually like the place but the foursome behind us hit into our play on three occasions
poor management
Pace was very slow. Group ahead had two bags but 4 golfers, two absolute beginners. Group a head of them had SIX golfers. Pace was awful.
Great course
My first time playing here, such a beautiful course. The back nines views of the ocean was really cool and you’ll see plenty of deer roaming around. I will definitely be coming back.
Nice second 9 holes
If you want play like at pebble beach, you should play the second 9. That’s the same view like pebble…and not so expensive !
City course play
Always a delight and challenging, the first 9 is a good pace, the back is more challenging and as a result the pace is slower, seems like the old dudes rule the course.
Perfect day at PG
I hadn’t been back to PG in probably 7-10 years due to my last experience, fairways were dried out and chunky, tee boxes a mess and greens that were inconsistent to say the least. However, yesterday was one of the most pleasant surprises I’ve had. Tee boxes were much better, fairways were green and smooth, greens were firm, fast and true. Staff got me out 30 minutes early which ensured I got to finish 17&18 in daylight. Great experience yesterday will have me coming back soon.
Fun time
Always have a blast at pacific grove course is well matained greens where a little fast. Would definitely recommend this place for you guys
Master
Service and maintenance individuals were cordial, punctual and efficient. Clean carts and golf personnel were excellent. Grass fairway conditions and putting greens were excellent James
Great golf on the coast
Had a great round of golf at Pacific Grove on 11/29. Weather was amazing nice and the course was in great condition for late November. Not a difficult course, and a couple holes have blind corners to the greens.
Windy city
The course is what it is ......unique, it gives the average person an opportunity to play an ocean course and still buy dinner for the week.
Great Birthday
Just played golf at Pacific Grove on 11/29/21. The weather was excellent and the course was in very good condition for December. Staff was friendly and I had a great round of golf with my wife. My net score was -5. Great birthday.
The back nine is beautiful to experience because of the views.
The pace of play was good as we finished in 4 hours and 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the greens were in terrible condition; very bumpy and slow.
