Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nince holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style.

The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, the original designer of the Pebble Beach Links. It opened in 1960, and is laid out in true links design over dunesland that approaches the sea.

Over looking the course is the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Built in 1855, it is the longest continuously operating lighthouse in California. It is a historical sentinel and picturesque landmark of the golf course.

A scenic tour of the dramatic coastline provides views of Lover's Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond and the natural dunesland at Asilomar. You will be enchanted by the abundance of natural wonders such as the plentiful Pacific Blacktail Deer, seals, sea lions, sea otters, pelicans and gulls.

PG Golf

It’s Friday and we tee’d off at noon and our round took 5 full hours……a killer.

Greens take some getting used to. Pretty slow, but the worst part was the rounded edges on the cup. Balls did 360’s.

Bring a jacket. The cool fog rolled in.

Still the best value and scenery. Lots of deer.

Stunning

Went out as a solo at dawn. Gorgeous walk and course for 1/5 cost of others on the peninsula. Coming back for sure.

Back 9 is the best value in golf. Front 9 is not great but enjoyable enough to play if you have the time.

The Holygrail

Do you really think your a golfer that can justify paying thousands of dollars to go play pebble beach when PAC grove is across the street and $60 bucks? Reality check majority of us would be paying that money to go vandalize 18 holes and would not resemble the game of golf that was intended to play that course. Leave pebble to tiger and take that money over to pac grove, you can buy yourself a new driver or more realistically lessons and still have enough to take the wife to Morton’s,you won’t hate yourself. Disclaimer before I go into the Mecca of golf that is pacific grove:If you’ve given this course anything less than 4 stars your the type of golfer that NOBODY wants to play with. For the course review, anything I say won’t do it justice. The clubhouse staff was great for some quick small talk,a putting and chipping green and a fully stacked coffee shop/ restaurant at the turn. The front and back 9 are like 2 different courses, the front is nice muni styled golf, we’ll kept fairways and pretty standard greens. The back 9 is where god kissed this course. It’s beautiful, there’s no other way to put it. Every hole looks on to the Pacific Ocean, if Zeus himself came and struck me on a green while I was trying to put together a bogey I would have died with a smile on my face. Hands down the most magnificent thing I have ever been able to step foot on in the game of golf and possibly in my life. I can’t say enough good things about this course and I will be back,God Bless the magnificent man who crafted the back 9 of PAC Grove.
