Holes 18
Type Public
Style Parkland/Links
Par 70
Length 5727 yards
Slope 113
Rating 67.9

Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nince holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style.

The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, the original designer of the Pebble Beach Links. It opened in 1960, and is laid out in true links design over dunesland that approaches the sea.

Over looking the course is the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Built in 1855, it is the longest continuously operating lighthouse in California. It is a historical sentinel and picturesque landmark of the golf course.

A scenic tour of the dramatic coastline provides views of Lover's Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond and the natural dunesland at Asilomar. You will be enchanted by the abundance of natural wonders such as the plentiful Pacific Blacktail Deer, seals, sea lions, sea otters, pelicans and gulls.

Warm up for Pebble Beach

Short and tricky public course. conditions reflected budget to spend. Beautiful ocean views on the back 9. Very affordable option to groove your swing before taking on the big peninsula courses.

Great Value For The Buck

PG Links was as good as I thought it would be. the course despite water restrictions was in pretty good condition. I found the greens challenging and the fairways forgiving. a great value for the buck.

Great back 9

Great round. No wind. Played another course the day before. They charge $175 a round. At $49 PG is a deal! Will play again but 5 hour drive is a bit long to make this a regular stop.

Great time but one complaint

Course stuck a twosome in between us and the group ahead of us as we made the turn when the course was packed and we were waiting on every shot. Bad form. Otherwise a great time and we will be back.

Golf Now Confirmation

The pro shop did not want to honor the golf now rate as they said the reservation was not made through golf now. They finally gave in to the rate but were not friendly about it.

The course was in very good condition and the back nine on the ocean was really fun

Love the poor mans Pebble Beach!

Weather was excellent, no wind and the deer were out in force. Beautiful course and the back 9 was exceptional. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to enjoy the ambience of the course and wants some challenging play. The course is short enough for beginners and intermediate
golfers to be challenged. Play it on a nice weather day.

East Coast Golfer

Very nice course, with scenic views of the Pacific Ocean. It's a course you'd like to play more than one time, because there are a few blind shots, that could end up anywhere. Overall, very enjoyable course.

Incredible Bargain; Amazing Views

We had a great time at PG. The course is in good shape, and the greens were terrific. During the course of play, we saw deer, an amazing "invasion" of Monarch butterflies, and of course, the stellar seaside views of the back nine. It's a shorter track, and very friendly to us less skilled golfers.

The value for the dollar is not to be believed. Remarkable.

One of my all time favorites!

The golf course offers many challenges and is one of my favorite places to play. It had been more than 2 years since my last time playing and the coarse was just as pretty as I had remembered. I drove over 100 miles to and from the golf course just to play there yesterday. That to me says it all!

Fog

As soon as we arrived for a mid afternoon tee time, it became foggy and cold. We had not brought clubs on a business trip so rented. Clubs were not even a full set of woods, no hybrids at all. Grips needed to be redone. They even made us buy the tees. Conditions were fair nothing special at all. We had no views with the fog. We quit after 9 holes because we needed to drive to San Francisco and due to the cold foggy conditions. This course was nothing great withou the ocean views.
