Good course for all abilities
Took my wife here for her first round. The course is simple but presents challenge in the right spots for the average golfer. The first par 4 is the most difficult hole, then things become easier. Because it is built inside of a horse track there are very few reference points for holes, you'll be surprised that from time to time you need to check the map. Rough was cut very short, basically an extra wide fairway. For beginners this takes the pressure of hitting a straight shot off the tee.
Greens played fast despite the rain so I imagine when dry they play very quick, leaving some challenge for better golfers. Sand traps were in average to good condition, again given the rain this is a good sign. Fun layout overall and plays quickly.
Fun layout
Cool little 9 hole exec course inside the horse track!
Course is a little beat up, but greens are in great shape. Staff very friendly and the price is quite reasonable.
A few short par 4s that you can get aggressive on.
Course in bad shape
Large patches of dirt and dried grass in fairways. Scraggly bermuda grass everywhere. Greens are fine but faitways are not. That is pribably why we had the course almost to ourselves
9 Hole Par 3
Its absolutely nothing special but if you want to just get a quick and easy 9 holes in then its a nice easy spot to drop by.
The pace can vary dramatically from finishing in an hour to taking over 2 depending on how busy and players in front.
Pleasanton Golf Center
This golf course is great for what you pay. The cart is definitely not needed as this course is very walkable. If you use the hot deal, it's only $5 to play 9 holes! This course is by far one of the best around for only having to pay $5. Theres a pond and 2 par 4 holes here. If you need to get in an out in about 1.5-2 hours, this is the spot. I come here almost every weekend when I have the time. Great staff as well.
Good 9-Hole Course
Great for a quick 9-hole round and provides good opportunity to test your short game.
Great Value!!!
So even though this is a very small course it plays very wide open with not too many traps or places to lose your ball. Built in the middle of a horse race track at the Alameda County Fairgrounds gives is a bit of a novelty affect but it's a nice little course for beginners to practice irons. Staff is great and GolfNow has some great deals. Would highly recommend for beginners and young golfers.
