Lousy Entrance
I love to play here because I am a beginner and this course is short, flat, and well groomed. Many of the greens are turtle backed, and there are tough pin placements, so the short game needs to be solid. I don't like the entrance to the parking lot, there is a one way tunnel, and honking is the only way to signal passing through. The weekend we played, there was a junior tournament and junior group lessons going on. There were lot of parents around the practice areas helping their kids learn to chip onto the only putting practice area, which was annoying. After we teed off the round was pleasant, and we no longer noticed the constant horn honking until we finished our nine holes. This course needs a better way to signal a car is coming in or out of the tunnel on the weekend. During mid-week, unless the juniors are at group lessons, it's pretty quiet. The driving range is cheap, but short and no woods are allowed. This is a great course to practice the short game.
good course but a bit short
It's a good and well maintained course but bit short! Out of all holes a pond by hole 7/8 was interesting challange! Its good course for testing your accuracy on short game!
NIce Course
Personnel in the clubhouse are very friendly, helpful and nice. The course was in fairly good shape - fairways are starting to get a little dry, but not too bad. Easy walk.
Good 9 Hole
Short 9 hole course inside of the horse race track at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Greens were in pretty good shape. Good course for beginners to get some practice and for a quick afternoon or lunch hour round. Leave your driver at home and you shouldn't have to worry about losing balls.
RELAXING, CONVENIENT, NOT CROWDED,INEXPENSIVE
Easy access for my grandson and myself. T-times readily available. Walk-ins usually available. I am retired, and can golf weekdays.
Tee time nightmare
Went with my father in law to play 9 holes after getting a nice $5 per person rate on golf now. Got there 5 min. Before our tee time and noticed a kids golf tournament underway. After watching two groups of three to four kids each- about 15 minutes past our tee time, we asked the lady hosting the tournament how many more kids- she said 3 more GROUPS! This was unreal. This was going to take us 4 hours to play 9 holes. We asked the guy working what was up and he said a co- worker messed up the scheduling.....apologized and proceeded to do nothing about it. Offered a few free balls to hit. We went to the Pleasanton driving range instead to hit balls. They couldn't even write a voucher for a free round??? Hard to believe and just not good business. I will not be coming back and wouldn't reccomend to anyone.
course is in great shape
The course is in great shape especially the greens, good for working on short game.
a good course for beginner
Fully recommended for beginners, only one hole you can have a chance to lose your ball.
simple. well maintained. irons only.
Better than average public course in terms of maintainance. Practice your irons, wedges and putting. Sharpen your scoring and define your short distance club selection for better golf.
