20 bucks. Real golf
Greens and bunkers are nice. Can be a little slow tho 2 hours max. Greens all raised and repel close shots. Wind makes it a bit more fun.
Have some courtesy.
My wife and I showed up 30 minutes early before an 8am tee time.
At 7:50 we noticed there was no one in the tee box and no one in the first fairway so I asked if we could go. The starter told me we could tee off as there was another couple scheduled to tee off with us but they weren't there yet. A perfect scenario for the two of us to get out and play and not feel pressure and practice and maybe even take a few extra practice shots or do-overs. So we teed off a couple of minutes before 8. As we headed out of the tee box and up the fairway the guy announces- "can you hold up? The other group just showed up". The husband hadn't even gotten the clubs out of their car yet. The wife went in to register. So we waited another 5 minutes for them to get to the box and tee off. My wife and I hadn't been playing recently all and knew that the first few holes would be a warmup. The couple who showed up were a couple of hacks also which led to an excruciatingly slow first two holes. My wife was frustrated with her early struggles and became too embarrassed to continue. I wan Ed to keep playing but she was done.
The starter should have let us go when we had the chance and not held us up. For those who can't bother to show up more than a few minutes before your tee time, have some courtesy for others you may be playing with.
It's real golf
Fun. Slow. Still very fun and worth it. Saucer greens repel close shots. Chipping up to a green. Not easy .
RGM Review
Well run operation. Course in good shape. Bunkers have good sand. Pleasant and engaging staff. Great pace of play and great value. Thank you!
Yes, that’s really where it is.
I’ve heard mixed reviews for this place taking to a few people, so decided to check it out. $20 for 9-holes, I mean I can’t be THAT bad. First off location, yes it’s really in the middle of the horse track at the Pleasanton fairgrounds, easy enough to get to once you find the gate entrance. As far as the course itself: They have a driving range, a chipping/putting area and some semblance of a pro shop. Staff was cool, showed up 30 minutes early as a solo and he just let me go out to stay ahead, that was much appreciated. There’s really only 2 holes to lose your ball on (7/8), as they are the only two holes with a water hazard. Course was in GREAT shape greens were flat and played quick and true, no tall rough to speak of. That being said if you are expecting to run through here fast…DON’T. The pace was pretty slow as this is a VERY beginner friendly course. First timers, families with young children all great to see, so just be PATIENT. I had a couple people just walk out med fairway when I was about to hit with no warning chasing misfits, it happens. Like I said just be patient especially after late morning. Overall I will definitely return.
