Tecolote - Owl be seeing you LOL
Great value for the money - friendliest staff and a great challenge for your short game. Will come again
Nice
Nice bunkers and greens!! Tee boxes are terrible. The staff and cart girl are friendly
Work on your short game
Had not played at Tecolote Canyon for about 20 years. Brought back memories. Greens are in good shape, but some of the fairways, rough and tee boxes were just OK. This course is a good test for mid-iron and short iron play. Greens were very receptive, but also had a good speed for putting.
Speed of play could have been better, but this is the type of course where there is quite a mixture of foursomes, threesomes, pairs and singles. Caused quite a bit of a back up as a twosome and the groups in front of us did not recognize until the middle of the back nine.
Having said that, an enjoyable round and good practice.
Course
Greens are excellent and fringe is good. Bunkers are terrible. The bunkers are cement or mud.
Bring extras!
Marshall was very helpful! Warned us this course "eats" balls, and it did'. Narrow fairways are like playing golf in an alley! Over all a great course to hone your short game scores. Challenging par 4's, 4 in all..
Fun Course
I love playing this course with my friends as it offers a great mix of fun holes. Tec is a great equalizer for those without great distance, so it allows everyone to compete. But even though it's an executive, there are at least 5 opportunities to pull driver and let 'er rip.
Lotta trouble around this course...make sure you stock up on balls!
Good greens
I think the greens are in excellent condition as well as the fringe..... bunkers are terrible. Bunkers are hard dirt and I guess they forgot to put sand in it
This is a good course for practice.
Executive courses, I understand, consist only of par 3 holes. This course has two par 4's on the front nine and two on the back. The rest are par 3's of varying lengths, thus great for practicing the short game.
Mickey Mouse
The first three holes total less than 300 yards. It is a joke. If it was the only course nearby you would be better off to not play golf because it isn't golf
Not worth $42
The course layout was lame. The condition of the course was pretty poor. Definitely not worth $39 I should have spent another $10 and gone somewhere else.
This is an average course.
I'll start off my saying this course is in the middle of a canyon and to be fair to the course, it had just been raining the previous 2-3 days prior.
The course is primarily a par 3 course and is not advertised as a par 3 course.
Green fees w/ cart are $26. I thought this was a bit high for the quality of the course.
The staff was very friendly and their was a younger crowd at the course.
The golf carts aren't the best quality. The three carts in our group didn't have functioning reverse. We had the physically pull the carts twice due to tights u-turn spots.
I personally would not golf here again.
Interesting Layout and fun to play
Sam Snead created a wonderful course layout in a canyon with plenty of skill required to get a good score. Elevated tees, some blind shots, narrow fairways, long par 3's and 4's, and short ones, this course has it all. The greens and tees are in great shape but fairways are not due to a lot of rain lately which does not matter that much. You need to hit your shots fairly straight otherwise they will be lost in the canyon woods so bring extra balls.
Easy course great for a practice round
Very easy course. There are only a couple par 4s where you hit blind. Fairways were in not the greatest shape but the greens were nice and some were challenging. Only complaint is all the noise on a couple holes on the back nine with construction equipment and maintenance running around, very annoying and made a ton of noise when trying to tee off. Good course for the price, pace of play was great. Would recommend for practice especially if you want to work on your iron game
This course was to short
my first time playing here with my little brother, had a rough experience because of the people ahead of us. They were very slow and rude, yelled at me and my little brother when he accidentily hit a golf ball in there location, i yelled fore, but they decided to make a big deal out of it and yell at us. Overall i think this course is very small, and not alot of room to play, you need to be careful when playing here.
Holes 1-3 totaled less than 300 yards because you were playing from the "Mickey Mouse" tees. If you play from the back tees the first three holes total 371 yds (105, 114, 152).
