This is an average course.
I'll start off my saying this course is in the middle of a canyon and to be fair to the course, it had just been raining the previous 2-3 days prior.
The course is primarily a par 3 course and is not advertised as a par 3 course.
Green fees w/ cart are $26. I thought this was a bit high for the quality of the course.
The staff was very friendly and their was a younger crowd at the course.
The golf carts aren't the best quality. The three carts in our group didn't have functioning reverse. We had the physically pull the carts twice due to tights u-turn spots.
I personally would not golf here again.
Interesting Layout and fun to play
Sam Snead created a wonderful course layout in a canyon with plenty of skill required to get a good score. Elevated tees, some blind shots, narrow fairways, long par 3's and 4's, and short ones, this course has it all. The greens and tees are in great shape but fairways are not due to a lot of rain lately which does not matter that much. You need to hit your shots fairly straight otherwise they will be lost in the canyon woods so bring extra balls.
Easy course great for a practice round
Very easy course. There are only a couple par 4s where you hit blind. Fairways were in not the greatest shape but the greens were nice and some were challenging. Only complaint is all the noise on a couple holes on the back nine with construction equipment and maintenance running around, very annoying and made a ton of noise when trying to tee off. Good course for the price, pace of play was great. Would recommend for practice especially if you want to work on your iron game
This course was to short
my first time playing here with my little brother, had a rough experience because of the people ahead of us. They were very slow and rude, yelled at me and my little brother when he accidentily hit a golf ball in there location, i yelled fore, but they decided to make a big deal out of it and yell at us. Overall i think this course is very small, and not alot of room to play, you need to be careful when playing here.
very disappointing course conditions
The majority of the tee boxes were ground under repair and due to that issue the opportunity to have a quality experience was eliminated. The person who took our money never mentioned anything about the shape of the course, there is no mention of it on the site when booking and after the round the GM of the course told his employee to make sure the sign about the tee boxes is always out on the counter. He also said on the golf now website there was a symbol (!) that would link customers to the message that the tee boxes were being replaced.......there is nothing on the site like that....the water jugs on the course were empty ........the GM gave my playing partner a gift certificate for some money off the cart rental next time out for the inconvenience.
Tecolote
Some of the tee boxes were relocated and under repair . The par 4s which are very few became pat 3 because the tee boxes were relocated almost 100 yards from the ordinal tee box.
Best part 3 course
Didn't know what to expect. Well I was amazed. Best par 3 course ever played. You had to be true wth your iron. Putter had to be on point. The views were awsome I have never played a course where it was all in a canyon. Off the tee you need to be accurate not much room for error on most tee's. I think the most challenging was the greens. The read of the green had to be on point or the ball would roll farther than planned.
The only thing that I would complain about was golfers that drink to much.. They would drive onto the greens with carts and drive circleS around them to irritate people and would sit at the green when complete so golfers would have to wait.
People like that make golfers look bad.
Did mention it to the Pro shop and hopefully they spoke to them.
If you have a chance to golf there , do it!!!
Great track
Always enjoy this place great staff chalanging corse for all level of players!!
Killing time
A good place to practice your short iron shots bring a lot of balls though !
Very plesant experience
Twe boxes, greens and fairways were all in good shape. The sand traps were soggy mud and were no good, but everything else was fine. Got cheap twilight rate, had a foursome in front of us that played at good speed, plays at bottom of a canyon area so there are no houses to hit and it had a nice vibe.
I had a good time and will play here again.
Great Course for Beginners
Course is challenging enough for good players but I like taking my wife and kids here. Great course for beginners.
Horrible conditions
Course is in terrible condition the fairway is dead and like Concrete
No push over
Had a good time playing Tecolote for the first time! The greens were really in good condition; rolled smooth and quick! Great course design w/ lots of elevation changes. The small greens were difficult to hit and had significant slope to them. Great staff and course... would play again if I was a local.
Not what I was expecting
When I scheduled my tee time through GolfNow, I was expecting a nice full size course. I didn't check course details deep enough before I scheduled tee time. When I showed up there to get some practice in, the driving range was closed. I then begun to tee off and realized they also have Soccer Ball Golf. Then as I played further into the course there were areas of the course it's completely dead and course is full of mud. Course just doesn't seem to be maintained on a proper basis. I do understand that it is an executive course and owned by the city, but there needs to be more maintenance done to the course.. Greens are good tho. That's one positive I liked about the course!!
Soccer golf sucks
I don't appreciate waiting behind kids kicking a soccer ball in front of us all day it was bull and I won't play there again
All I want for Christmas is a ban on Soccer Golf
My most favorite weekend short course and perhaps the most difficult executive course west of the Rockies has been ruined by soccer golfers that have NO CLUE of golf course behavior or edicate.
Course conditions: A
Pace: B+
Difficulty: Tough!
Nice but SLOW
Had a good time the greens were great the fairways on the par 4s could have been better. The big issue was the 3 group pile up at each hole. Way over booked and no marshal in sight. 3.75Hrs and didn't finish 18 holes due to nightfall. Should have be able to run the course in 2.5 Hrs
Golf and Soccer ?
Not bad for a 3 par course. Only problem was a group of young adults with what appear to be coaching staff kicking a soccer ball to a target trailing me and my playing partner the whole time we played. Bad ,bad idea...
