Bring extra balls
Narrow fairways make this course tougher than most executive courses. Greens were great, though I didn't expect them to be since groundskeepers had recently been in the midst of aerating them. My fourth time there. Recently started to play again after hiatus of several years. Will continue there until comfortable with driving off the par four tees.
Playing the Owl
I have played this course more times then I can remember anymore. I always have fun and take my frtiends. Even on a Saturday I know I will not be waiting for 5 hours to finish. They did introduce Soccer to the game which I am not to thrilled about...
So that is a negative.
I go here when I want to have fun and be home by noon.
Can't beat the price
For $15 with a cart you can't go wrong. The tee boxes in places are trashed. And the greens are beyond slow. But for that price I'd play it again. I played all 18 in about 2 hours. I was flying and hitting well. I passed 4 groups so the people there are respectful of pace.
best executive course hands down
I've played Tecolote Canyon for years and I still have fun doing so. It's a great course to really hone in on your irons game. I have it three stars for course conditions only because of the many ball marks left on the green. I repaired dozens of them even though they weren't mine.
Great irons play.
Great place to work on irons play. I recommend it for club choice and ball placement skills. Interesting layout when pins are placed well. Overall thumbs up.
Greens in good shape
The greens are in good condition. The fairways are dry due to the drought but that's to be expected.
Challenges your iron skills
This course challenges your iron skills! Great course for no noise of traffic!
Nice course but challenging
You better be hitting it straight. Plenty of canyons and creeks to eat your balls, however there are many holes where you can favor safer plays and miss without penalty. When I play a par3 course I like not using a tee to add difficulty and practice my shorter irons. Some tee boxes were in awful shape, but since you can tee it up, no problemo.
Yes
Fun exec course, challenging narrow fairways, good greens, nice elevation changes .. Defintely recommend even for experienced players. Staff great, will play here again!
fun small course but still challenging
Nice little course with hard greens and sum elevation changes
Greens Slowed Down
I used to live in Bay Park 20 years ago and this course is what started me back to playing golf again. It's a tight fairway course and it's easy to lose balls here. I was pleased to say I didn't lose one ball all day.
I booked here because it was later in the day and I wouldn't have had time to finish a regulation sized course. Pace of play was pretty good for a weekend round and I was joined by two really nice guys.
The only thing I can say is from twenty years ago the greens used to be much faster almost to fast for the small size of them, but I also pulled up short a number of times because I was not used to them being so slow. Don't get me wrong they were in really good shape, just seemed a bushy.
Great place to play
Fell in love with this course. The scenery was amazing and the course was in great shape. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was good. Loved playing here. The executive layout of the course was fun to play. I would recommend this course to any one and everyone!!!!!!
fun
Tests all aspects of your golf skills. Tricky on some holes. Great for all skill levels. A little hard on beginners but manageable. Will be going again.
Lot of standing water
There was lot of standing water, a sand trap had a puddle in it, considering it has not rain in San Diego in months, there is no excuse other than not having staff that cares enough to take care of sprinklers. And not allowing so many muddy spots throughout the golf course .
Great Fun!
The course was in great shape...and the weather was overcast so it was cool and breezy which was great! Loved it!
TIGHT COURSE
COURSE HAS SOME TIGHT AND INTERESTING HOLES BUT TEES IN POOR CONDITION AND APPROACH AREAS IN FAIR CONDITION. GREENS ARE VERY DECENT. NOT WHAT I HAD HOPED.
Great Value for an Exec Course
We were in town for only 3 days and went there not realizing it was an Executive (Par 3) Course, but we enjoyed it. The greens are fantastic, but the rest of the course is fair. I'd definitely play it again if I wanted to only hit my irons.
always better than working
Had a great day out there....need to work on my short game though.....some narrow holes to play
