Great Fun!
The course was in great shape...and the weather was overcast so it was cool and breezy which was great! Loved it!
TIGHT COURSE
COURSE HAS SOME TIGHT AND INTERESTING HOLES BUT TEES IN POOR CONDITION AND APPROACH AREAS IN FAIR CONDITION. GREENS ARE VERY DECENT. NOT WHAT I HAD HOPED.
Great Value for an Exec Course
We were in town for only 3 days and went there not realizing it was an Executive (Par 3) Course, but we enjoyed it. The greens are fantastic, but the rest of the course is fair. I'd definitely play it again if I wanted to only hit my irons.
always better than working
Had a great day out there....need to work on my short game though.....some narrow holes to play
We had a great time
It was all good. It has been like two years since I'd played and it was the perfect course to start playing again.
No carts
This course is a tougher exec but that's half the fun of it. Be prepared to lose balls. Greens are a little iffy. The only thing that ruined it is that they didn't have any carts available. Then while we were out we saw 2-3 carts broken down. If they stepped this up it would be way better
Great value
Want to work on your short game? Tecolote is an great place to do that. Nice grounds in the tucked away 18 hole executive course with a couple of holes to break out the driver. While the sand in the bunkers is a bit solid the greens where very well kept. This course will force you to keep most of your tee shots straight or risk losing your ball in the natural foliage and ravine that runs the length of the course. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Driving range offered grass and mats to practice. I'll be back!
Great Par 3 Course
I played this weekend with my girlfriend. This is a great course for her (and us) because shes not ready for a full size course. Good elevation changes changes and plenty of hazards. I enjoy this course much more than Mission Bay, which is too short and doesn't have enough 'real' sized par 3s.
A tough Executive course!
The course is nestled in a canyon and weaves back and forth with a river running through it here and there. There are 4 par 4's but as one fellow said, "you get to use every club in your bag"! All three of us contributed quite a few balls to the trees, shrubs and palms so accuracy is a good thing to have. I was paired up with 2 nice fellows, the cart had lots of pep, and I had a very good time!
Don't get lost in the canyon.
Tecelote is one of the finest executive courses I've ever played. Extremely challenging. Bring extra balls as you will probably lose more than one. This is the type of course that if played regularly will really improve your short game.
Great executive course
Great course for a great price! Challenging and fun!
xcellent for your short game.
accuracy is key. Tricky tricky pin placement. Challenging even for the most seasoned golfer.
great value for the buck.
we make this a routine when in S.D.
A fun place to start getting the game into shape. Lots of different looks and elevations.

Grew up playing this course so it can never do me wrong, always fun, not very difficult but bring plenty of spare balls due to a canyon wall on one side and a creek through the center.
Great short course
I'm a beginning golfer and I really enjoyed this course. I look forward to going back.
No Care
Tee boxes are more like sand traps. Seemed like who ever takes care of the course just thinks a lawn mower is good enough.
Bring plenty of tees
Great views and canyon style golf. Keep em straight. With the holes rather short in length almost every tee short calls for a wedge or an iron that eats up tee box grass. Bring your tees and patience on Sundays. Great staff. Great for learning golfers and working on your short game. Challenging greens are maintained well.
Tight canyon
Greens good. Fairways really need work, guess they think you are going to be on the green in one or two four the four par 4. Fairways need to be address sorely . Hard pan and patchy are the norm. Being honest I can live with it for 15 bucks at 3 without cart didnt expect to finish 18 but just getting in 9 was close good thing got a ride back. Thinking some of our other public courses offer excellent twilight rate which won't leave you stranded. Balboa 9 , Coronado if you are planning on nine only
