Distugsting facility, course, bathrooms, practice area, food and service. Someone needs to buy out the owners, fire staff and make this place a decent golf course.
Short but tough course.
Well maintained greens for this short executive course. Lots of OB if you don't hit it straight. Greens are small, so precision is key. A couple of short par fours if you want to hit the driver a few times, but not long enough for the shorter hitters to hit the green in two. This is a great course for the beginner and experienced golfer who wants to improve their short game and be tested with precise tee shots. Pace of play is kinda slow. Expect waits during peak times - weekends/afternoons.
Great little course, well maintained.
Good place to play if you don't have 5.5 to 6 hours for a full round of golf. Great course to sharpen your short game skills.
Did not care for it
The ground was like hitting off rocks
the cart paths were dirt and gravel
it was ok but i did not like the course there are better maintaned
exec courses out there
Good course
This course is 58 par.
Good for practice for iron and short game.
Also green was good condition.
Fun Exec course
Although a relatively short course, the hazards prove to make it harder than it looks. You can definently loose some balls there. Course was in very nice condition.
Only 'Con' in this review
Putting greens could use better grass and sod.
Ball has a tendency to bounce and change directions radically without a visible reason.
the greens were fast but looked like they might require a little bit of attention.

Your chance for a hole-in-one
This par 3 course in San Diego is moderately challenging with narrow or sloping fairways and soft greens. If you're off the mark, you'll lose your ball or two, but you'll find just as many when searching for yours. Unfortunately most of the tee boxes are worn, missing grass, and you have to become accustomed to hitting off a hard sandy surface. The price is right if it costs under $20 a round. The practice hard surface putting green does not mirror actual greens on the course and it's difficult to judge speed. I did enjoy the outing, however. I always do no matter the course I play.
Tough Exec Course
If you can shoot a good score here, you can score good at any course in San Diego. This course has some tight greens locked between marsh and canyon. The four par 4's on the course are an easy birdie if you hit a ball 280 plus. I almost holed out 2 of my approach shots for eagles. All in all this course is challenging for beginners and scratch golfers alike. Great course to fine tune your game.
Nice course makes you play true.
Good course for the money friendly staff. Very narrow makes you play with in the lines.
good short course... plenty of trouble... good condition fun to play
I would definitely recommend playing this course... lots of fun to play
This is a great executive course. It's not going to challenge a low handicap golfer, but it serves its purpose.
Went with a buddy to play a quick 18. The course was not very crowded which allowed us to play at a decent pace. Didn't find the course to be incredibly challenging, but the fairways are very narrow. It's a great course to practice your iron play on.
Great Executive course
Great course in pretty good condition. Narrow tee shots require accuracy on most holes. Never too busy and can easily be finished in a couple hours. Would play everyday if I could!
The course is fine for what it is.
Tecolote Canyon is a good course to practice your short game skills.
rewards accuracy, great short iron/putter workout.
Fun course to play without taking all day. Good value.
Great Course Great Day we enjoyed it
Course and Staff were great as well as the day was excellent.
Great greens w/occassional tough pin placements
One of many great courses that gets overlooked b/c of location or toughness. Even though the holes are narrow, the courses greens & fairways were in upkept condition. A few t boxes could use attention but overall great value for condition.
Great course to play
This was a great course to play. It took three hours and it was more challenging than anticipated. I really enjoyed this executive course and will be coming back again.
A gem of an executive canyon course
This is a very nice canyon executive course. It eases you in with a couple of straight forward, shortish par 3's -- and then the fun begins with tricky greens and magnetic hazards - all in a wonderful setting - at an excellent price. A great workout for your short game.
