Golfer Reviews
Steeling grove is legit!
Most fun Ive had shooting 96! Course is extremely challenging. If you miss the green you pay. Bunker placement forces you to think your shots through. Course was in great shape. Cant wait to go back.
Massive Improvement
2nd time we played this course. 2 months ago we were dissatisfied because the greens were very hard and not holding AT ALL ! Today there were SO Much better. Tees a little rough but everything else was fine. Putting green around clubhouse spectacular. Best I’ve seen for a public course. Perfect for working on your putting. Overall this course is a solid 4/5. Greens are challenging with a lot of slopes but interesting. Challenge for all golfers regardless of handicap.
Great value
Nice golf course with extremely challenging greens; fairways were perfect as well as the teeing areas. I will continue to play here when I visit the Phoenix area and it’s open for public play.
Worth playing
Course is only a couple years old, but its growing in nicely. Very challenging. Im a 14 HC. Greens will drive you nuts. Bunkers are placed in the exact right places, forcing you to trust your swing. Wind can be a factor. Most fun Ive had shooting a 96.
Amazing courses conditions
Amazing course conditions and lighting fast greens. Definitely a challenging course. No shade though so plan accordingly. I will definitely be back again.
Check out their bar/restaurant if you get a chance.
Greens need work.
Course is still being deveoped. The price and availability reflect the conditions. Greens are not true...and make the whole course more challenging...almost unfair.
Greens are big challenge
Course is great! In really good shape! Pace of play is great! Everyone very friendly.
Greens are fast and very sloppy. They do not always roll true.
New .. Very Interest Green Constructs
Course is new. Going to be very good when it matures. Lots of newly planted trees. Didn't understand cutting all the native grass and scrub down; makes the place look ugly and cheap. Greens are a hoot; very rolly polly. Putts probably rolled at 10; if they rolled at 12 ... watch out! Lots of interesting holes. Overall ... a fun day.
Windy day
The greens are firm and super hard to putt.Wind made it extra hard to keep balls on green. Was also challenging on some holes, not able to see hazzards and thought we hit great drives. I look forward to playing again and hopefully not in the wind
Great Layout…..Greens Need at least a year to mature
Loved the layout and it is well maintained. The greens need at least another year to mature. The roll true but they are still so firm that it’s very difficult to hold a good approach shot.
I look forward to playing it again next spring.
Oh……and if you don’t want to play in the wind, make sure you get a morning tee time.
Greens and Tees hard as rock.
Course conditions were excellent… the greens are stupid. Hard , will not receive a ball ( at all ) and are ridiculous with so many crazy undulations. Looks fantastic but it quickly became goofy golf. 4 of us are single digit handicaps and we were all disappointed. This review is honest and not because any of us played poorly. It became silly when you have to play short of the green constantly. Greens and tees need to aerated big time. Could be a fun track otherwise. Wide open fairways that are conducive to the average golfer but a 2/10 on the greens.
