Great Shape
Best I’ve seen this course. And impressed with all the upgrades and amenities. Our 4 is planning to go back soon
Goat
Great course. Greens are in pretty good shape and there’s a variety of wide and narrow fairways. Also very nice nature around you. Birds were chirping the whole time I was playing, it was peaceful.
Fun Course
Course and the greens are in very good shape. Tee boxes need a little bit of help
Lost Plantation
For this time of year and comparison to other courses in the area right now, I would say the greens e
Were excellent and fairways were very good. Enjoyed playing this course.
Not great
My wife and I played this course for the first and only time. It had good reviews but when we arrived, they told us the back 9 was closed because they were doing construction on it, but said we were welcome to play front twice or get a refund. So we planned on just playing front 9 twice.
We were paired with two other singles, one who had brought is 6 year old son with him. It was a long day for multiple reasons. They one single letting his son play around and walk all over the place and talking and moving during swings. But the pace of play issue really came because of the 3 carts and family of 6 in front of us. Father and 2 kids playing while mom drove around with 3 other very young children, but when mom stopped 2 of the kids would jump out and be all over the place. Not sure why they would allow that on a Saturday afternoon??
The course itself was very rough, no grass on most tee boxes and little to no grass on fairways. Greens were pretty decent but that was about the best of the course. They had put in new cart paths and apparently that’s what’s happening on the back 9. Just think that money would’ve been better spent on the actual course.
A work in progress
The City has spent lots of time and money making repairs to the course with the addition of a new cart path around the entire front nine and working on the back nine. Greens are genreally in good shape. Tee boxes are still a work in process. The biggest area needing more improvement is grass on the fairways. There are many fairways on the front nine where grass is virtually non existent making shots and ball contact very difficult. If the fairways receive new seeding and ongoing maintenance in a year or so this course will be in much better shape. We paid $15 for 9 holes with a cart. At present, the $15 would be better spent at the driving range. Fairway shots are almost impossible due to lack of grass.
Had to play back twice. They were replacing cart path's on the front. Course was in good shape.
Improving - Not Great Yet
This course has struggled over the last decade to stay in great condition. Lot of the bunkers need sand and less gravel, cart paths need improving (actively doing so now, only 9 holes are open), greens more sunlight, but due to legality reasons with wildlife management/epa they aren’t allowed to cut down some trees. However, the hurricanes have helped clear a good bit, and the course is actively getting better. Greens are slow, but have consistent speed - just not quality due to sunlight needs. The course has changed management a few times over the last few years, but it is absolutely recovering from lack of management in the past. City of Rincon seems to be actively investing in their public amenity, and I do enjoy playing here. The bar/grill is great, reasonably priced and located, but there is no beverage cart. If you can catch this golf course for anything less than $40 these days, it’ll be worth considering. Less than $30, take it. Less than $20 (very common during weekdays), SNATCH it.
Reconstructing first 9 holes
Can only play the back nine holes. Needs to shows this on Golf Now to inform players. Paid for 18 so I just played the back nine holes twice.
